No. We aren’t.
The foundation program is, and has been, flawed for some time
Yes, there are some places that have got it right. For sure!
But when the vast majority of F2s take F3+ & we have data like this (and other studies) it’s time to accept that it’s time to change

6 years from an SHO to a Consultant Surgeon. Is this time well spent? Would it be better to implement focused training, reduce training time but to the same (if not better) standard?
If so, what do we need to do? #MedTwitter

Thank you @STARS_LDN for the useful +++ interview prep session today! Amazing trainees taking time even at work to nurture aspiring surgeons. Hope to be able to contribute towards making surgical training more accessible as well one day!

If it helps I truly valued my mock interview session! I thought it was genuinely so generous of you all the give up your time when realistically you could be paid for this on a private course!!! Thank you so much for the effort you've put in
To everyone getting their evidence scores back, we hope you all got the result you wanted 🤩
For anyone who’s been unlucky in this round of applications and wants to cancel their mock interview, please reply to our team via email.
Thanks

I don’t know who needs to hear this but DO NOT stress about CST.
I didn’t get a job I wanted first time and have no regrets about an F3 and then reapplying.
I was 100x better the second time round, because I kept up momentum with scoring ‘points’ and prepping hard👌🏽

In reality 2021 wasn’t all that bad. This time last year I’d never have DREAMT I’d do so well at CST interviews, be on @Surgery_Trials committee, compete my PGCert AND present the things I have.
Not being academic at uni DOES NOT stop you upping your game post graduation 🙏🏽
For all current/past UK CSTs, what advice would you give for prospective applicants? Is there anything you wish you’d known?
