Summary of my views on UK gov attempt to veto @ScotParl decisions - covers both the attempt to block this particular piece of legislation (passed by a substantial majority, inc MSPs from all parties) and the very significant wider issue of principle .
"It will be using trans people... as a political weapon." First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon says it would be an "outrage" if the UK government blocks the Scottish gender recognition bill, and will "embolden them" to block more bills, creating a "very slippery slope".

The Tories aren’t willing to give Scotland a route out of this toxic union, and they’re continuing to strip us of powers and rights. What is devolution worth if the Westminster Govt can override it whenever they fancy? #PowerGrab

This is a full-frontal attack on our democratically elected Scottish Parliament and it's ability to make it's own decisions on devolved matters. @scotgov will defend the legislation & stand up for Scotland’s Parliament. If this Westminster veto succeeds, it will be first of many
Scottish Secretary says UKgov is using a S35 order to block a Holyrood bill (for the first time) due to concerns that the gender reforms would have “an adverse impact on the operation of Great Britain-wide equalities legislation”
