Had two animators work on the same scene, one in C4D and one in After Effects. Both are V1s, but seeing them next to each other makes me wonder how often we choose software out of habit. What would you have used for this?

Super fun black hole effect I’ve been building in After Effects using: • a dotted gravitational field • displacement/distortion • curved motion into the center • dots stretching + accelerating near the black hole • glow/falloff around the event horizon Most of the feel comes from how the surrounding field reacts to the black hole rather than the black hole itself. What would you add to make it even sexier?
