Please note:The Sign Garden will be ONLY on the WEST side of the legislature building (between the leg and Memorial Drive) along the pedestrian paths - out of respect for the memorial/orange flags on the front lawn of the Legislature.

Our special announcement is here! You ask, we give- unlike some others we know. #MBStudentsForCovidSafety #ListenToTheStudents
ALT A beige background with black text. Text reads: Alternative action plan. On Monday, January 17th students all across Manitoba plan to walkout in protest of the lack of safety measures in schools for Covid-19. But what can others do?
From @KarnLuanne:
All Teachers have the Right to Refuse Unsafe Working Conditions! "The BC Teachers Federation has confirmed 4 teachers have refused to work, filing an unsafe work claim through WorkSafe BC due to low compliance with mask-wearing despite public health orders." 1/3
"NOSTA president Graham Gomme was reluctant to comment on the situation but did say teachers are feeling unsafe due to the number of students who have mask exemptions. “We are working with WorkSafe BC to see if that school is a safe place to work ..." 2/3

"They say the next step is we mitigate the risk, so let’s mitigate the risk by checking the CO2 levels in the classroom, opening windows when ventilation is not good, moving to another location, putting in portable HEPA filtration units... & N95 masks,"

There’s a lot of venting and sharing on social media about the MB govt’s inaction to secure safer schools. This helps blow off steam, but we can do more. Why not go a few steps further and do some other things with the potential to help effect change? Here are some ideas…1/x
Kids & school staff are still being forced back to schools with minimal safety measures in place to protect them. Add your voice to the official record (which may come in handy in future inquests! and when historians reconstruct the dreadful account of government inaction). 11/x
