Saint Viator Boys Golf

It’s a wrap! Officially finished the season last night with our team banquet. Favorite part? 1) Honoring our seniors Ben, Dom, Charlie, Cullen and Joe! 2) Our team prayer - the same thing we do every tournament before we head to the first tee! The future is bright. Onward!

State finals in the books! It didn’t end the way we envisioned (5th place overall)…suppose we’d call that a “bad” end to a good year. Proud of the boys. Today we were led by Hunter, Mac and Drew. Congrats to Wheaton Academy on a remarkable season and state title🏆

Day 1 of the State Finals is done and we’re sitting in 3rd place after a gutsy performance in bizarre weather conditions! We were led by Oscar, Drew and Mac…and one of them was very sick all day, I’ll let you guess who from the pic 🤣🤒 Tomorrow is a new day…boom! 🏆🙏

Your Lion golfers are headed “downstate” (again!!) to battle for a State Title!! Lezzzzz go!! So proud of these boys for fighting hard today! All 6 scores in the “70’s” again, including Mac Dean tied for 1st 🥇 Can’t wait to see what’s next 🏆 🙏

What a day!! SO proud of our Lion golfers fighting through all kinds of tough conditions to WIN our Regional!! Onward we go toward our ultimate goal. We had all six scores in the 70’s today (!!) and were led by: 🥈Mac (72 runner up) * Hunter (74) * Oscar (75) * Drew (76)

Such a cool annual tradition for our SV golfers…TEAM MASS!! Special thanks to Our Lady of Wayside and (our very own) Coach/Deacon Paul. Powerful homily and the team blessing put a lot of wind in our sails as we head into “the playoffs” this week Lot to be proud of! 🙏❤️

Some great golf from the boys today at a very difficult course at Stonewall Orchard! Competing against nearly all larger 3A schools, we just missed a runner up finish. Today we were led by: 🦁 Otis Meyers (75) 🦁 Joe Lang (75) 🦁 Thomas Laschen (77) 🦁 Charlie Dejlitko (78)

In our final dual match in downtown Chicago today against DePaul, we had the narrowest of winning margin…but still squeezed out the “W”! On Lake Shore “Drive” we were led by: * Brooks (36) * Otis (37) * Cullen (38)

Today we gave our “top” guys the day off…what happened? The next guys just stepped up, didn’t skip a beat and won tourney by 14 SHOTS (!!!) on an extremely difficult course. So proud of them! We were led by: 🥉Otis (76, 3rd) 🥉 Thomas (76, 3rd) * Brooks (79) * Charlie (79)

At the first ever CCL Conference Tourney today (24 teams!!) your LIONS fought hard and we fell just short! Conditions were very tough at windy and wet Wedgewood GC. Three of our golfers were named “All Conference” 🎖️ Oscar Marzec (72) 🎖️ Mac Dean (72) 🎖️ Declan Dean (75)

Your Lions had it going for sure, then we slipped a little at the end… But we still took down a 4,800 student juggernaut against Stevenson HS in a head2head battle! We were led by Drew (35) and Declan (36)… Our best is yet to come, keep an eye on this team!! 🤙🏼🦁

Certainly didn’t have our best stuff today at the Ottawa Invitational, but we still snagged a 2nd place team trophy (losing to the reigning state champ team). 10 hour day for the trip - road warriors! We were led by Drew (74 🏅), Oscar & Hunter (75), Cullen (76).

First ever match play exhibition between SV, Benet and Wheaton Academy! What an atmosphere with three of the best teams in the state competing head2head in President’s Cup format. Came down to final hole and Wheaton beat SV by 1/2 point overall!! Amazing day, thanks to all!

A convincing 14 shot win in our dual match today vs a solid Carmel Catholic team! 🥇 Gorgeous night at Highland Woods golf course with great sportsmanship and competition across the board! Your Lions were led by Joe (36), Hunter (37) and Declan/Otis/Brooks (38).

Your Lions win again! Competing in two divisions today at Hersey’s Invitational against larger 3A schools we took 1st 🥇 and 2nd 🥈 place. So proud of these boys for grinding out a tough day. Medalists: Mac & Drew (75), Declan & Cullen (76), Hunter & Joe (77), Thomas (79)!

With the heat today we were forced to practice indoors. Special thanks to our friends at Forged Golf for hosting us. What a great new facility in AH! Happy day for Thomas, receiving his “varsity bag” from our Team Captains…well deserved! 🦁

On a day we had to field two Varsity squads, we have a ton to be proud of and nearly won…came down to last hole at Orchard Valley against a huge field of larger 3A schools. Shot 297 as a team!! Led by medalists Declan (72), Thomas (73) and Brooks (74). The young guns! 🏅🏅🏅

Another big tourney (120 players) and another WIN for your Lions at the Montini Invitational at Village Links. We shot 299 on a tough course to win by 6 shots! Led by Drew (72) along with four other top 10 finishers Oscar, Otis, Cullen and Mac. Lezzzzz go! 🏆 🏅

Overall, didn’t have our best stuff as a team today at the Barrington Invitational at beautiful Biltmore CC. BUT we still snagged a 2nd place finish and we had two Top 5 medalists on the day. Congrats to Hunter and Oscar on solid rounds on a tough course 🥉🦁
