A rare honor for an SID. A totally deserved honor. There were stretches of time when Kenny was the glue keeping the Louisville athletic department together. He's missed every day.
He spent his career celebrating Louisville’s legends. Now, he’ll take his rightful place among them. On Jan. 2, we’ll honor Kenny Klein with a permanent place in the rafters of the KFC Yum! Center. We love you, Kenny. ❤️ More Info: uofl.me/4sdE6uI #GoCards

Here’s my main concerns about this 2 semester model: Some schools will pay for two seasons. Some will drop the sport. The two-semester men’s soccer model does not add games. It adds a second operating season that not every budget can carry. Yes, the contest cap stays at 25. Playing days stay at 132. Fall max 18, spring max 10. College Cup moves to spring. If the 30-day rescission fails, it starts in 2027-28. • Spring travel is a new line item. Same game count, second set of flights, buses, hotels, and meals. • Staff cannot stay shared. Trainers, academics, and game-day crews are already tied to baseball, lacrosse, and softball. • Facilities get double-booked. More field time, more maintenance, more indoor rental in cold climates. • No new media money to cover it. Men’s soccer does not throw off football or basketball revenue. • Post-House v NCAA settlement budgets are already tight. Revenue sharing and bigger scholarship pools hit first. Power programs can absorb a second season but Mid-majors and smaller Division I schools often cannot. When the bill goes up and the revenue does not, men’s soccer is an easy cut. That’s my take based on my experience dealing with AD’s and administration
🚨 NCAA MEN’S SOCCER NEWS ALERT 🚨 The DI Cabinet just approved moving men’s soccer to a two semester season! It passed with less than 75% of the vote. That triggers a 30 day rescission period. Eligible DI schools and conferences can vote to kill it. It dies only if two thirds vote it down. If they do not, it takes effect. This is not final yet!! The Cabinet said the vote is not locked until today’s meeting ends. June version of this proposal got sent back. Twenty conferences opposed it over season length, rules clarity, midyear enrollees, and academics. Student athletes broadly supported the change. The earlier model kept the 25 contest cap, split fall and spring, and moved the College Cup to spring for 2027-28. Today’s note does not confirm those details survived the rewrite. Approval IS NOT adoption. Watch the rescission window. Questions remain like: What does a spring College Cup do to recruiting calendars? Who actually benefits if the season stretches across two terms? @SRUSA_Official

At this moment 25 years ago, online readers of the New York Times were shown stories about tax cuts, school dress codes, Michael Jordan, and stem cells. In less than an hour, everything changed. In horrifying fashion. (Thanks to the @nytimes archive, you can still click on the the links to those articles.) archive.nytimes.com/www.nyti…
