If you’re setting off for #TMiP23 today, don’t forget to take a COVID test before you set off, or before joining us at the event, to help us keep everyone safe. If your test is positive, contact the organisers ([email protected]) about joining remotely instead.

We’re so proud of the great programme we’ve put together for @TMiPUK this week, including training workshops, discussions and networking activities - and remote attendance tickets are still available for only £30 - see our website at talkingmathsinpublic.uk for more info.

Taking a break from maternity leave to attend a special @Ri_Science #RiMasterclasses event at @MathsatBath - loads of fun exploring the maths of polyhedra & spirographs so far! Who knew planetary orbits are just like spirographs? Thanks to @samkampo & @jennypowerhour @SAMBa_CDT

Wondering what the TMiP conference is like? Read this first-hand account by Max, who attended our 2019 event in Cambridge:

Very excited to share that Talking Maths in Public 2023 is open for booking! Bursaries and accessibility help will be available too, so please do join us if you're at all interested in Maths communication. We've an awesome programme lined up (as usual, and no bias ofc) 😁
Talking Maths in Public 2023 is happening! If you are a maths communicator (or maths-adjacent!), then join us 31st Aug-2nd Sep for talks, training and discussions. Our previous events were wildly successful and all sold out. So don't miss out, book now: talkingmathsinpublic.uk
Huge thanks to the organisations making it possible, and to my co-organisers - I can take very little organisational credit so far this year (been busy growing a small human to the point of making disgusted broccoli faces) so am completely unbiased in saying it'll be excellent

Loved @Hana_SciArt's #MathsArtChallenge on @24hmaths, such great competitors! Loads of inspiration for my next set of black and white drawings to keep The Daughter entertained for approx 10 seconds (yes, everything in my life currently revolves around the tiny human)
.@Bryn_PJ would like to share his 230-scoring square - he's worked out it was 7 points off the maximum possible score #24hrmathssquares
