I don't really watch much of the Premier League anymore, but having a look at this Man Utd match it's even more insane to think the muppet who is cheaping them out is presented in the UK media semi-regularly to expound his views on how to run the country

Like, you are failing miserably with a stacked deck in football, why would anyone think his opinion on taxing billionaires like him is worth anything at all?

You can hardly get half a trolleys' worth of food for less than €100. Diesel is €2 per litre again. A tiny apartment anywhere near a job is over half your wages. Everyone's kids are going to Australia. But @fiannafailparty are making sure we can have a war with Russia 👍
The Triple Lock Reformed Ireland must be able to make our own democratic decisions on where we deploy our peacekeepers, not be vetoed by Russia or any other country.

Unironically making this statement is a great heuristic to judge a powerful persons character and motivations If he genuinely believes this, it calls into question his ability to understand topics he's not an expert in, it shows how susceptible he is to propaganda, how poorly he researches information or how easily manipulated he can be to believe certain ideas are true These weaknesses means he can't be trusted with the amount of power he currently has But if he knows this isn't true, that means he's willing to flat out lie for political gain and his political gain revolves around incorrectly understanding Nazi ideology Which also means he absolutely can't be trusted to use the power he has responsibly

Elno is the perfect talisman of capitalism being a failed, unnatural system. In so many other fields - sports, evolutionary biology, etc - it's the fittest, the strongest, the best in the field that has the most success. In a capitalist society, it's this idiot.

I’m old enough to remember 48 hours ago on Politics Live when the media and political class were incandescent about a non-Jewish person explaining antisemitism to a Jewish person. Any minute now they’ll condemn Michael Gove’s vile comments towards Zack Polanski. Any minute now.
from @declassifiedUK. Here is an angry non Jewish Micheal Gove claiming he knows more about antisemitism than @ZackPolanski the only Jewish party leader.

What a shameful day for our government. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael think they can give away our neutrality but it's not theirs to dismantle. Western 'liberal' 'democracy' is ultimately all about power, profit for weapons manufacturers, endless violence and war. We can't have this

The past 20 days have marked one of the most monolithic pushes by British media to vilify the Zionism is Racism Green Party motion. Imbalanced coverage would be an understatement. The papers wrote 447 articles on the Greens' Zionism vote. Israel, pro-Israel groups and the Chief Rabbi got 12,133 words. Palestinians got 3,173. Any institution that parades as a "news outlet" can no longer be taken seriously if it covers this motion without also covering the people, Palestinians, who have endured, suffered and been oppressed the most by the ideology in action. What the figures show: • Israel's government alone got 3,904 words. More than every Palestinian put together. • 2,422 of the 3,173 Palestinian words came in stories tying Lubna Speitan, the Palestinian who proposed the motion, to al-Qaeda. • Apart from Lubna, two Palestinians were quoted across 436 articles, for 76 words between them. Nobody in Gaza, the occupied West Bank or Lebanon was quoted at all. • Lubna told the Telegraph that 56 members of her family had been killed in Gaza. One article mentioned it: the Telegraph's own al-Qaeda story, in paragraph 44 of 51. • Lubna has received death and rape threats since the vote. Al Jazeera reported it. None of the 447 British articles did. • 43 articles said, in the paper's own voice, that the motion meant the destruction or abolition of Israel. The motion calls for one state with "equal rights for all". • 36 headlines said antisemitism. Not one of 447 said genocide. • 304 of the 436 articles we read in full never mentioned the genocide at all. • 0 of 89 comment pieces backed the motion. • The Daily Mail ran 38 articles on the motion, and in that time, just 2 on Israel's ongoing attacks across Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. After a string of poor results, of course we suddenly get a great win against a team near the top, with the first clean sheet against opponents who have put 5 and 7 past other teams this season already. Genuinely, why wouldn't you be a 'pie? 🖤🤍

Most people in France can't afford housing. They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast. They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.

Getting blown up by a Russian drone to protect my beautiful nation of privatised water companies, boarded up shops, cracked paving, and political-media class who think I’m a racist because I oppose a genocide. No thanks mate.

This is entirely correct and actually very insightful: both are fake gotcha questions designed by right wingers to insert hatred of minorities into the mainstream while directing the conversation away from their own failings.

Just got on a bus in Cork with my boy in training, in the seat behind the stairs with extra space, a good spot for working dogs. I saw a woman here with a buggy, they got off as we got on. This is how she left the seat. What disrespect for @Buseireann staff and fellow users.

One of the biggest issues we have as a society is platforming and magnifying loud people instead of smart & genuinely good people. It’s a huge reason for a ton of problems.
