Samsung's Exynos 2700 may have just beaten Qualcomm's most powerful Snapdragon chip by a surprisingly large margin. ➡️ A new report claims the Exynos 2700 scored around 20% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in Geekbench 6.5 multi-core tests. ➡️ It was reportedly 15% faster in Geekbench 7 and delivered 20% better GPU performance as well. ➡️ These results haven't been independently verified, and thermal performance and power efficiency remain big questions. ➡️ But if the numbers are accurate, Samsung could have a seriously competitive chip for the Galaxy S27 series next year.

📲 Got a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip or Z Fold? Make sure you use "Double tap to turn on screen." Samsung's side-mounted fingerprint scanner is so fast it can unlock your phone before you get a chance to check lock-screen notifications. Instead of fumbling with another finger or changing how the sensor works, simply double-tap the display to wake it without unlocking your device or touching the side key. Go to Settings → Advanced features → Motions and gestures → Double tap to turn on screen. You can also enable Double tap to turn the off screen. It’s a simple One UI feature that makes checking notifications and Now Brief easier while keeping the side button free for quick unlocking. If you’re new to Samsung foldables, make sure this setting is enabled! And if you have the iPhone Duo and don't want to join Samsung yet, hope that Apple will find a solution to its lock screen problem that's just as seamless.

Apple’s iPhone Duo is getting roasted for its Nano Texture display, and Samsung is happily adding fuel to the fire. After a side-by-side comparison showed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 handling reflections better, Samsung Mobile US fired back on X: “Thanks for shedding some light on this 😎” Apple introduced Nano Texture to help disguise the foldable’s notorious screen crease. The technology uses microscopic surface etching to scatter light instead of reflecting it. But early users are reporting a major trade-off: a blurrier, more washed-out display with weaker contrast, especially under strong lighting. The finish can also be harder to keep clean. The irony? Apple made Nano Texture a defining feature of the iPhone Duo, while offering it as an optional upgrade on other devices. Samsung Display manufactures the Duo’s foldable panel, but the controversial Nano Texture implementation was Apple’s decision. Now, Samsung’s Fold 8 is looking better in direct comparisons, raising questions about whether Apple’s attempt to reinvent the foldable screen went too far.

Apple’s Split View lets iPhone Duo users place two apps side by side. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 can run three, which matters when one task involves more than two sources of information. When planning a trip, you could keep a group chat open beside a hotel listing and a map. For work, it could be a social media post, its original source in a browser, and a Slack conversation with your team. The Fold 8 also lets you resize each section, place temporary tools such as a calculator or calendar in movable pop-up windows, and save two- or three-app combinations with App Pair. Not every task needs three apps, and sometimes one or two will be easier to read. The advantage is having that extra flexibility when you need it. That gives Fold 8 owners a practical reason to unfold their phone. The larger screen doesn’t simply show more—it lets them do more without constantly switching between apps. Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed Galaxy phones are now available on Amazon in the US, giving buyers another way to save on refurbished Samsung flagships. The launch includes 7 models across 14 configurations: the Galaxy S24 FE, S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Prices start at $489, before taxes and fees. These aren’t just ordinary used phones. Each device is serviced by Samsung specialists using genuine parts, passes 147 quality checks, and comes with a brand-new battery. The phones are also repackaged in 100% recyclable materials. There’s one catch: Samsung’s trade-in program isn’t available for Certified Re-Newed devices purchased through Amazon. Buyers who want to trade in an old phone for additional savings will need to shop through Samsung’s official online store instead.

🚨Samsung might be launching the One UI 9.5 beta much earlier than expected. ➡️A redesigned One UI beta banner in the Samsung Members app is the latest hint that the program could be approaching. ➡️Samsung also started internal One UI 9.5 testing earlier than it did with One UI 8.5 last year. ➡️If Samsung follows a similar testing timeline, the One UI 9.5 beta could begin as early as the first week of November. ➡️The Galaxy S26 series will be first in line. It remains to be seen whether the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and other devices will join immediately or later.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are gaining serious momentum in Europe. Sales were up 45% compared to the Fold 7 during their first nine weeks, while Google searches for the Z8 series jumped 260% in September, peaking at a staggering 460% increase for the Fold 8/8 Ultra in the second week. That surge coincided with Apple’s announcement of its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, suggesting Apple may be generating interest in the foldable category that Samsung is well positioned to capture. With the iPhone Duo shipments reportedly delayed until late January in some markets, Samsung has a potential advantage heading into the holiday shopping season. The Fold 8 starts at €1,999 in Europe, while the Ultra starts at €2,199 before discounts. Samsung’s gamble on expanding its foldable lineup appears to be paying off.
