Not the best picture, but I found a Red-flanked blutail today in the Dyfnant forest! Just outside of the @RSPBLakeVyrnwy reserve boundary.

What a shot…
Daniel Biber spent years observing huge gatherings of starlings on the Costa Brava, before he was able to capture the exact moment their murmuration formed the ethereal shape of one giant bird.
No trickery. Just nature on the wing doing it’s most wonderful thing.

This is what #naturerecovery looks like on mountainside in upland #Wales to right of fence. I stopped there - it was alive with warblers singing.Left of fence still sheep grazed. Will new Wales Sustainable Farming Scheme encourage farmers to create habitat for nature like this?

A day out of the county ‘ up North’ and always a great pleasure to see Willow tit especially when seen excavating a nest hole . Red listed & the UK’s fasted declining resident bird let’s hope the conservation efforts stop this decline and the birds are successful…
First Wheatear of the year at Lake Vyrnwy, a superb male to add to the stunning Golden plover we found on the recently restored peatland on Friday!

A couple of the 50 or so Brambling that have been present at Lake Vyrnwy recently. The coldest weather seems to be bringing them down to the roadside where they feed on beech mast.
