Manchester United don’t get much right when it comes to the transfer market.
However, they deserve credit for walking away from paying £85m for Mateus Fernandes from West Ham.
After four games for Spurs, he doesn’t look like a midfielder worth anywhere near that price.

🚨💬🎙️| MAURICIO POCHETTINO DELIVERS AN EMOTIONAL MESSAGE TO HARRY KANE AFTER WINNING THE BALLON D'OR
🗣️ "Harry, the Ballon d'Or. My captain, my striker. Looking at you with that golden trophy today, my heart is full."
🗣️ "I remember the work we put in together at Tottenham. That belief we built, step by step, when nobody else believed in us. I still remember Madrid... the tears, the pain of the night we almost won the Champions League."
🗣️ "That night broke our hearts, you could have won your first Ballon d’Or that year, Harry, but it defined who you are. You never stopped, you never gave up, and you carried that mentality everywhere you went.”
🗣️ “The world finally sees what I saw in your eyes every single day on the training pitch."
🗣️ "Enjoy this moment with your family. Breathe it in. You earned every single piece of history."
🗣️ "you have made me proud my friend."

The best thing about Harry Kane is that in an industry that churns out absolute wankers he is just a nice guy who loves his family, works hard at his job and is the best person he can be. Excellent role model.
🚨🚨🎙️| Harry Kane delivers an emotional tribute to his parents, wife and children after winning the 2026 Ballon d’Or! ❤️🏆
To his mum and dad:
“What a moment. All those years, the sacrifice you gave me, the support you gave me, the times taking me to training, coming to watch me play, all around England, all around Germany, no matter where it was, even to this day you're there.”
“There was never any pressure from you to become a footballer. It was always about working hard, it was always about improving, it was always about learning.”
“I love you. Thank you very much.”
To his children:
“To Ivy, Vivian, Louis and Henry, you're the reason I do this.”
“I want to set a good example, being a father, but also being a professional and what it means to work hard, what it means to believe in yourself. I love you very much.”
To his wife Katie:
“My best friend. We've been through ups and downs, for sure. You're my biggest supporter.”
“Here it is. We've done it. You've always done the best for me. You sacrificed yourself to help me achieve my dreams.”
“This is a trophy that we celebrate, not me. It's me and you. It's all the family.”
“I love you.” ❤️

I am so sick of seeing this. 14 years old. That poor little girl.
The Govt clearly recognises there is a safeguarding problem, given the guidance it has published for people entering the country illegally. So where is the same urgency when it comes to protecting our girls?
