Here's some @vrchat and @SteamVR performance tips as we go into the weekend. 1st: disable unnecessary gpu load, especially with virtual desktop and steamlinkvr: go to Steam > Settings > Interface and look for "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" With steamvr and link in particular, this causes stuttering and hitching. 2: exclude the vrchat cache directory from windows defender. Open Windows Security and go to Virus & threat protection. Under "Virus & threat protection settings," click Manage settings. Scroll down to the Exclusions section and select Add or remove exclusions. Click Add an exclusion and choose Folder from the dropdown menu. Type %appdata%\..\LocalLow\VRChat\vrchat Select the vrchat folder and click Select Folder to add it as an exclusion. Windows Defender will now exclude this folder from its scans. Since new files go in there all the time, it really slows down avatar and world loading. 3: Disable auto resolution and use a fixed resolution 140% above the native resolution of your vr panels. For index that's 1960x2240. Bigscreen 3584x3584. Q3 2289x3192 Disable motion smoothing: it's a video encoding technique and it's no longer nessisary if you use vd or you're wired.
