VERY IMPORTANT EMAIL FROM OUR EDITORIAL TEAM: "Health 👏 care 👏 is 👏 two 👏 words. Yes, even when you’re using it as a modifier (e.g., “health care coverage”). Even when spellcheck tells you it’s one word. They’re lying. It’s two."

Interesting: In 2004, when voters in 13 states passed bans on gay marriage, just 29% voted against them. In 2026, when seven states voted on anti-trans policies, 46% of voters rejected them.

This is why Republicans lost every statewide office and the State House in Georgia. I’m trying to lower your bills and you guys are asking me where I’m going to pee.

We are going to win Mississippi ⬇️
Good morning from Mississippi! Our lead continues to grow, and we're now up by roughly 1,100 votes! We're confident Scott's lead will continue to grow as the remaining votes are counted. We're staying focused and protecting the integrity of our election.

The country is a better place without an anti-equality zealot like Harmeet Dhillon leading DOJ's Civil Rights Division. Harmeet — don’t let the door hit you on your way out. ✌
Top Trump official Harmeet Dhillon has just resigned from the DOJ's Civil Rights division, just 2 days after a historic blue tsunami across the country.

Reminder: When Tony Evers beat Scott Walker in 2018, GOP legislature rushed to curb his powers in the lame duck. Eight years later, his legacy is cemented.

This is what allyship looks like. This is what love looks like. What an incredible father who will make (knock on wood) an incredible Congressman.
Must watch: Meet Chuck Hubbard, who is set to defeat Virginia Foxx in a safe Trump +18 district in North Carolina. Just a normal guy, he decided to run for office to stand up for his LGBTQ daughter and defend her rights in Trump’s America.

So excited to see Scott in Congress! And at 6'7, you're not going to miss him.
Thank you, San Francisco. I’m deeply grateful for the trust voters have placed in me, and I’m ready to get to work for you.
I want to thank Supervisor Connie Chan for a spirited and hard-fought campaign. We’ve had our disagreements, but we share a deep love for San Francisco and for our country. And thank you to our incredible campaign team, to every volunteer who walked precincts or made calls, to everyone who donated, host a house party, or put up a window with, and to the labor unions, the environmental, housing, LGBTQ, Democratic Party, and progressive organizations, and the elected officials who stood with us every step of the way. You turned this campaign into a movement.
I’m humbled to carry forward the powerful legacy of this seat — Phil Burton, Sala Burton, and the greatest Speaker in modern American history, Nancy Pelosi. Speaker Pelosi came to Congress to fight AIDS when too many wanted to look away, and she never stopped fighting for our city and our country. Madame Speaker, thank you.
This victory is also historic. For the first time ever, San Francisco will be represented in Congress by an LGBTQ person — indeed, no LGBTQ member of the House has ever represented any part of Northern California. When I stepped off the escalator at Castro Muni Station in 1997 and fell head over heels for this city, I could never have imagined this honor.

San Franciscans voted for results, and we have so much work ahead: Building the millions of homes we need; moving toward true universal health care; investing in clean energy, public transit, and high-speed rail; standing up for science, education, and immigrants; making sure people — not massive corporations — decide what works for this country, including on AI; and ensuring the rule of law applies to everyone, including the President.
It won’t be easy. But on Election Day, voters across the country delivered a powerful mandate for Democrats in Congress. I’m deeply inspired by the trust they placed in us to take big swings to lower the cost of living, stop the endless wars, hold Trump and his cronies accountable for their corruption, and rein in the threat of artificial intelligence. In Washington I’ll bring the same determination I showed in Sacramento every single day.

It’s time to deliver a better tomorrow for our city and our country.

That’s now TWO pro-equality chambers in Congress. LGBTQ+ people made this moment possible. The MAGA obsession with attacking trans people has failed families who are struggling to make ends meet. And voters spoke up. Now, this new Congress has a mandate to protect our fundamental freedoms, our democracy, and deliver real solutions to urgent priorities for all families.

Over $110M in anti-trans ads spent against Sherrod, Talarico, and Hinojosa. Down. The. Drain. Time to put this disgusting strategy to bed.

Equality wins. After two years of MAGA attacking our LGBTQ+ community instead of addressing rising costs, voters have had enough. With this pro-equality House majority, we’re ready to put working families first, hold Trump accountable, and build a future of equality for all.

This hit me harder than I thought it would. It's incredible to see a gay man elected to the U.S. Senate, standing proudly next to his husband. I'm not crying...YOU'RE CRYING!
Pappas: I want to thank the guy next to me, my amazing husband. He's always been by my side. Win, lose or draw, I'm the luckiest guy because I'm married to a man that I love.

20 years ago tonight - election 2006 - Virginia voters put an amendment into the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. 20 years later, it's undone. The arc does, in fact, bend towards justice.
