My reflection on what being an A's fan is now that the team is leaving Oakland for Las Vegas.
butattheendoftheday.com/2023…
Lions gonna Lions.
Joe Montana asked to play with Barry Sanders in Detroit. The Lions told him no.
He had four Super Bowl rings. And he called the Lions coach himself.
The front office turned him down in two words.
In the video below, Barry repeats exactly what they said.
It was 1993. Montana was leaving San Francisco and wanted one more shot with the best runner in football.
Wayne Fontes took it upstairs. He came back with the answer and had to tell Montana no.
Montana went to Kansas City instead. That same season, he took the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game.
The best quarterback of his generation and the best runner alive could have shared a backfield. Detroit passed over a birth certificate.
On today’s market, Montana’s deal would be worth about $45 million a year. Barry’s, about $42 million. Detroit could have had both. What they really made is in the article below.
What an amazing journey. What a team!
In 2015, trailing 2-1, Warriors made a starting lineup change and won 3 straight and the title.
Maybe it happens here.
It's an understandable but avoidable loss for the 49ers. Short week and a bunch of injuries.
The bye comes at a good time.
This week in sports online:
MNF: People do not know what surviving the ground on a catch is.
WNBA: People do not know that standing for the anthem it's not a requirement.
Falcons: Throwback logos don't mean Nazi support.
What else are we fake outraging about this week?
My feed is somehow littered with Washington Commanders fans who do not know what a completed catch is in the NFL

This happened 14 years ago and I covered it #Athletics
That is a great looking victory. I'm pretty sure jet lag contributed to it. But I also think this 49ers team played exactly as they needed to.
I worked and interviewed him numerous times during his rookie year. He had so much joy. I'm saddened to hear this.
I'm surprised. But yeah I'll take it.
