I'm COVID+ without symptoms following an outbreak at work. Current guidance is to return 24 hrs after symptoms improve. I literally have no symptoms, just a growing collection of positive RATs. Do I go back when I stop testing positive? This is like a forced paid staycation.
It's 2023. We've come through 3 years of COVID and a winter "tripledemic" here in TO. But apparently, germs aren't a big deal anymore. NBD if you can't wash your hands after you blow your nose or before you eat. This is the hand sanitizer selection at Shopper's Drug Mart.

To the surprise of no one, my 8yo brought COVID home last week. I'm 2x vaxxed, boosted, and experimental booster boosted. + RAT for me Fri followed by 36hrs of incapacitating chills and muscle & joint pain. Today, nausea and vomiting. Minimal respiratory Sx, though. I'll take it.
In less than an hour, I'm taking my dog to be euthanized. I know it's a lesser loss in the grand scheme of things, but I've watched my kids cry all morning, and soon I have to take their sweetest goodest girl away, and she won't be coming home.
Today sucks. It just sucks.

The R value has always been a leading indicator. Today’s COVID-19 case count is of no surprise.
Halloween weekend, unfortunately, led to significant transmission.
Why? Because we can’t properly message to people that COVID is airborne and vaccines work.
