FYI if you’re giving your money to the National Audubon Society they’re spending it on this bullshit instead of paying people to do work that helps birds

So excited to see our research on the cover @Nature ! Great work and photography @AnthonyWaddle all the photos from this study are beautiful
Excited to see our research on the cover of the latest issue of @nature !!
I was never much of a photographer - the frogs did the heavy lifting on this one by being cuuuuute.

A fungal infection some scientists consider one of the worst wildlife diseases of all time is wreaking havoc on the global frog population. Now, scientists say they’ve discovered a way to help frogs fight back: tiny saunas. wapo.st/3zrN8gJ

Turns out #frogs also enjoy long soaks in a hot sauna, and research shows it provides them with a chance to withstand outbreaks of the chytrid fungus 🐸

Purpose-built “frog saunas” allow amphibians to warm up in winter and bake off chytrid infections.
As Anthony Waddle (@Macquarie_Uni) writes, you can even DIY and build a frog sauna for your own backyard with our step-by-step guide. theconversation.com/our-frog…

Holy shit guys not only were they theoretically able to help frogs recover from Chytrid by providing a gentle hot spot, but they found that the frogs recovered thru heat were potentially resistant to future infections theconversation.com/our-frog…

Super excited about our newest manuscript out now @Nature - “Hotspot shelters stimulate frog resistance to chytridiomycosis”
Excited to announce our new work to protect endangered frogs from the devastating chytrid fungus pathogen has been published in Nature! @Macquarie_Uni @UniMelb @SchmidtFellows @_aaausa nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
I have a new manuscript out @Ecology_Letters ! We show that local amphibian-Bd interactions are more deadly than those with novel strains. However, novel strains led to variable consequences with virulent host- pathogen combinations still occurring
