Definitely felt brutal to have our preschoolers' space taken from them overnight. Let's bring it back.
We will be sad to lose @BellRibeiroAddy due to boundary changes at the next GE; she has been a fantastic advocate+immediately grasped the issues at hand.We look forward to engaging with the candidates for the new constituency on this @SteveReedMP @anthonyboutall @ClaireBonham

I think it's clear for all to see that @StreathamSYCT 's recent decisions have not led to any kind of community benefit in the Vale; quite the opposite, in fact.
A sobering and sad picture.
A soulless, empty Hut in Streatham Vale Park today - this space used to be filled with children, toys, snacks & activities. Now, hardly any attendees at stay & play paid for by @BH_StartForLife - more evidence of @StreathamSYCT not making good use of a @lambeth_council building
Sprigs kids were always out in all weathers, but to see the nursery completely empty on a gorgeous May morning such as this is particularly upsetting.
This sight will be the norm if @StreathamSYCT keeps full control of the space as it has now.
@BellRibeiroAddy @GreenPartyScott @BrixtonBlog @SthLondonPress ed appreciate your continued support in ensuring this publicly-owned space is being put to best use.

Lambeth residents have form in campaigning for better play opportunities for their kiddos - great to see Marjory Allen's legacy honoured. Let's keep fighting for our kids 💪🌱🩷
‘Blue plaque honours adventure playgrounds pioneer’ - @BBCNews
bbc.com/news/articles/cy9xqy…
A blue plaque dedicated to Marjory Allen, Lady Allen of Hurtwood, has been unveiled at her former south-west London home.
Lady Allen was known for creating adventure playgrounds for children in London in the 1950s.
@EnglishHeritage said she was also a "pioneering landscape architect, and a tireless campaigner for child welfare".
In the 1950s, Lady Allen had been inspired by a playground she viewed in a housing estate in Copenhagen and brought the idea to the UK.
With her mantra "better a broken bone than a broken spirit", she helped create a playground on a former bombsite in Notting Hill and another at Lollard Street, Lambeth.
Lady Allen coined the term "adventure playgrounds" to describe the spaces and with the London Adventure Playgrounds Association went on to create 61 adventure playgrounds in the capital.
Let’s bring back the good old plays!
Adventure Playgrounds are culturally unique and vitally important to our children, young people, families and our communities that’s why @PlayEngland are calling on the next Govt. to introduce ‘Play Sufficiency’ legislation in England ➡️ issuu.com/andy-sajeimpact/do…

Looking forward to hearing the results; from conversations with people there on the day there seemed to be very strong support for a nursery to be re-opened at the Hut in Streatham Vale park 🌱💚

What a shame that such a lovely charity has had its reputation destroyed by poor leadership and board decisions in the last 12 months. A good shout would be for some of the great SYCT staff in this video who have since left to consult the current board on how to run it properly.
Throwback to when SYCT leadership was rooted in the community instead of hiding from us in their offices.
If you love working with communities who are passionate, invested, creative and (dare we say) even noisy - please apply to the role of #SYCT 's interim CEO! They seem a little bit lost at the moment and defo in need of some strong, inspiring leadership💪🌱 harrishill.co.uk/job/interim…

🌍Today is Earth Day
💚As Sir David Attenborough says, in our increasingly urban lives we must actively make sure our children connect with the natural world,so they grow up to know, understand+care about it.

If you want a nursery reinstated in Streatham Vale park, please be sure to come along next Saturday and make your voice heard!
12-2pm at the Hut, Streatham Vale park
(apologies that it's over lunch and nap time - we realise this isn't a great way to engage with families of young children but unfortunately #SYCT made the schedule without any community input)
Replying to @StreathamSYCT
@StreathamSYCT have finally announced their plans for the community engagement "day". It's from 12pm-2pm next Saturday 27 April at the Hut, Streatham Vale.
We appreciate that this is short notice, and that two hours spanning lunch and nap time is far from ideal for engaging families with children under 5s. However it would be great if as many community members in support of a nursery in the park could make it down if possible.
We have voiced our concerns with councillors and MP @BellRibeiroAddy that this attempt at community engagement is unlikely to be effective or yield meaningful results, and hope that @lambeth_council will work with the community to ensure future such activities meet LGA standards.
