I’m having a serious problem with the man I’m in a relationship with. He is planning to marry me, but I’m scared because of the things he says when we fight. He tells me he wishes he never met me, kicks me out of our rented room at night, and says very painful things... including that I don’t know how to cook and asking what I would even cook for his family.
He is very controlling, even when it comes to our child. I have to do everything he says. I once left him and rented my own place. He still came every day, ate there, apologised, and promised he would never do it again. He supports me financially with the baby, has never cheated, and has never hit me. But the way he speaks to me is so hurtful that I sometimes doubt he really loves me. He is also always on his phone, so we never get to talk or bond as a couple. If I complain, he starts arguing and it becomes a big fight.
He now wants to pay lobola, but I don’t know if marrying him is the right thing to do.

I can’t sleep more than 6 hours either. And within that 6 hours I will definitely wake up in the night then sleep again. My eyes are always looking tired. I’m tired. I’m not even 40 😩
I'm in my 40s and I can't sleep more than 6 hours anymore. Doesn't matter what time I go to bed, my body just wakes up.
For years I thought it was a problem to fix. Tried everything, no screens, magnesium, all the usual advice.
Lately I stopped fighting it. I get up, make coffee, and I have the quietest hour of the day before anyone else is awake. Some of my best work happens there.
Still not sure if it's a superpower or my body slowly giving up. Anyone else in their 40s dealing with this?

I woke up around 3 a.m. to prepare vegetable stew, rice, beans, plantain and fried fish for my husband.
My husband doesn’t eat restaurant food. Whenever he goes out, he survives on bread and soft drinks until he returns home.
He didn’t ask me to cook for him. I did it because I could, and I wouldn’t want him to go hungry when I could do something about it.
Sometimes, love is not about the things your partner demands from you. It’s about the little things you do because you genuinely care about their comfort and well-being.
He didn’t ask. I just couldn’t let my husband go hungry when I could help it.
