How can conservationists rewild the carbon cycle? 📣🌳🔄 This paper provides considerations to design and monitor such programs, and to weigh social-ecological trade-offs. @mkburak @kristyferraro @kagglerock @diego_ellissoto @nathaliersommer @SchmitzLab doi.org/10.1002/pan3.10609

🌿🐾 New research shows that bringing animals into ecosystems saves species and fights climate change by capturing and storing carbon. But, as we offer in our newest paper with @PaN_BES, it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. #rewilding #climatechange doi.org/10.1002/pan3.10609

New paper from this newly minted doctor! It seems everyone is excited about the potential of Rewilding, and we are, too! So, we dove into all the complex contextual dependencies that matter when Rewilding for climate change. (1/3) @PaN_BES doi.org/10.1002/pan3.10609

My third dissertation chapter is published!! Here we show that deer calving is an important zoogeochem input AND that the context of subsidy deposition matters - turns out ERM-associated shrubs can mute the impact of inputs on cycling!
Deer calving is a key #zoogeochemical contributor to #forestecosystem #heterogeneity. The subsidy impact is dependent on, and modulated by the plant–fungal community. Animal subsidies should be contextualized in #plantfungal frameworks. @kristyferraro doi.org/10.1111/1365-2656.14…
