I'm still waiting for gun control advocates to name any measure short of total confiscation that: (1) Oregon didn't already have in place, and (2) Might even remotely have mattered in this specific instance.

DSA Communist Abdul El-Sayed refuses to answer when asked directly by @JesseBWatters if he wants to get rid of the 2nd Amendment. One look at his smug indignation shows you the answer. Michiganders, your gun rights matter. Vote accordingly.

Some sense here, for sure.
New rule: if you say "all gun laws are unconstitutional," I'm going to immediately ask you why you believe that child rapists who completed their prison sentence should be able to buy a gun right after release. You might respond: "Well child rapists should never get out of prison!" Hey, I agree! I'd hang them like the founders did most violent criminals. Sadly, that's not what we're doing as a society, so again: should they be allowed to buy guns upon release? If you'd like a less extreme example: Should a 12 year old be able to buy a gun and bring it to school? Because if *all* gun laws are unconstitutional, any law blocking that would be too. *Most* modern gun laws are unconstitutional, but not all. We should stop dealing in silly memes that no one actually believes if they think about it for like 5 seconds. Worse, they make the whole movement look unserious. We become the caricature of ourselves that antigunners are trying to make the public think we are. A big reason I got on Twitter in the first place years ago was getting tired of argument by slogan, so just coming back to my roots here. 🤣

NJ Attorney General pushes "modern epidemic of mass shootings". Well, here is 8 years of mass murders with all homicides nationally - along with the percentage of murders per year that were mass murders. It avg'd 0.22%/yr. An "epidemic" that's 0.22% of all homicides?🤡

Fetterman on Fox: Bernie Sanders needs to apologize to the voters of Maine and to everyone that donated to that train wreck of a campaign. More than anyone, he pushed Platner into the election. And now he keeps pushing these communists and these kind of awful anti-American people. There's plenty of those people that have to humble themselves — humble yourself, and stop pushing these kinds of people on people in my party.

Yes, more capable guns can do more harm in the hands of evil people. That's not groundbreaking. Obviously, an AR15 is more capable than a revolver or a bolt-action rifle. But it's also constitutionally protected precisely because of that capability. The Second Amendment is not about the minimum-possible lethality that is still effective for self-defense. It recognizes a natural right to keep and bear arms for personal and common defense, against everything from rabid animals and criminals, to tyrannical armies and foreign invaders. Moreover, of the tens of millions of AR15s and similar rifles out there, an astonishingly small percentage of them are every used in any crime. Still, I agree that we should address rare mass shootings, and there are a number of ways to do this: 1. Stop releasing violent criminals early, as Everytown's political allies frequently do. Like Smiley Martin, who committed the Sacramento mass shooting that got Everytown to successfully push for a Glock sales ban in California. He was out of prison 6 years early thanks to Everytown-endorsed Governor Newsom's initiatives, serving only about 3 years for felony domestic violence. (I see why they don't want to stop releasing criminals - those criminals give them pretexts to pass more gun control!) 2. Stop making everywhere a "sensitive place." At this point we know from numerous mass shooter manifestos that they specifically target places where armed resistance is unlikely. Stopping law-abiding people from carrying guns just creates a dream setting for killers. If a series of these scumbags met humiliating ends at the hands of a quick armed response, many of them would stop trying. As the data shows, people with carry permits almost never commit crimes. There is no reason to ban them from carrying in so many places, as they present no public safety threat. Unless of course, Everytown wants mass shootings to be successful so they can ban more guns. In that scenario, of course they don't want any pesky armed citizens stopping their next gun ban push. 3. Stop giving mass shooters the media infamy a portion of them crave. While not true of all mass shooters, many in that profile do desire the media coverage prior ones have gotten. That should be denied to them as much as possible. smokinggun.org/new-report-as…

I'm with you on this.
I love my country. I don't love my government. The former makes me a patriot, the latter shows that I'm paying attention. #America

Gun control groups are moments away from telling you that rich gun lobby money beat the poor defenseless state of Hawaii, despite the fact that Wolford's lawyer had to do a fundraiser to pay the court's printing costs and Hawaii's lawyer has a standard rate of $3,250 an hour

Arguing with Democrats who think the assassination attempt was staged is very similar to arguing with Republicans who think 2020 was stolen. Evidence doesn’t matter. They will rationalize it away in order to cling to what they *know* is true. Conspiracy brains are the same.

An emergency meeting between @SpanbergerForVA and the principals of this working group should be convened.
Coming off a hiatus to rest up for my book launch and wanted to call attention to a fun and informative conversation with the good folks at @ABetterWay2A. "Bridging The Divide In The Gun Debate With David Yamane." #lightoverheat rss.com/podcasts/abetterway2…
