I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money. 1/

“Every day we are hearing stories from teachers who feel like they are being forced to choose between their health and their career. You should be able to be a teacher without it taking over your life.” @AGavrielatos #MoreThanThanks #HearOurVoice

Parents imagine your stds want to do a subject in yr11, but the tchrs they have are NOT trained and can't teach them the basics? How would you feel? Oh by the way - THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!! You want this fixed? Come and join the fight!! @TeachersFed #MoreThanThanks – at Sydney, New South Wales
Young teachers talk about the toll of teacher shortages, unsustainable workloads and why they may be lost to the profession unless things change dramatically. They know how important May 4 is and why teachers must stand together as one. #MoreThanThanks vimeo.com/705220793

Acting is tough... BUT, teaching is like putting on 6 shows a day, where the audience and PA announcer constantly interrupt you, and the audience has to pass a test at the end to make sure that they were paying attention.🍎🤷🏻‍♂️

“I can’t speak more highly of what Federation did for me,” member and Olympics basketball referee James Boyer said. He’s been granted 20 days of paid special leave to referee at #Tokyo2020, after Federation advocated with the Department of his behalf. nswtf.org/olympic-referee

Schools are getting creative with engaging their students’ voice - my EOI interview for the DP role included the school captain as the student rep on the panel. Thanks for the article @Chris____Harris

Thinking Yes what the Gallop inquiry suggests would cost huge $$$ Yet ...might these have greater impact on outcomes than some PL, ineffective tech systems costing millions, accreditation that costs $$ to belong to yet little impact on the ground re working conditions (1)
