IF SLS hits 2/year cadence on A5 (so A6,7,8 in 29'-30') Should NASA pursue BOLE to have SLS do A9-12 in 30' to 32'? (which is about the time commercial expects to be ready for Orion LV ops) Or have SLS cadence stay 1/year to give other LVs chance to develop without SLS Block 2?
82%Yes, Go SLS Block 2CV
18%No, slower but no Block 2

bare in mind going for 1/year would also mean landings stick to 1 a year and not 2 a year which would not be great, still good but not great if the hardware is capable of 2/ year

the whole bit of using an off the shelf centaur then swapping to a bigger, better centaur than EUS because of accepting that companies are just not ready to take on Orion until into the 2030 and instead of settling on a ICPS replacement Centaur-SLS, make it a way better Centaur-SLS for the job is a absolutely fantastic demonstration of an admin changing the plans they just made before any critical reviews because a better option came up instead of sitting on the orignal design
Jared Isaacman: "The best way to take off SLS's 4 billion dollar price tag is to FLY more, you can not reduce price by NOT flying" "Orion will be a key piece of this puzzle through the 2030's" "ML-2 is not useless we have been using parts of it for New Glenn pad rebuild and other programs" 'EUS is overdemanding and to much for boeing to juggle with the needed Core stage production ramp, so use a larger more capable Centaur inline with our base plans~' "We were going to use an off the shelf Centaur but seeing a set back with Blue origin, seeing how suddenly a Major provider can be out of comission for a year or less made us move to replace EUS capabilities with the stretched Centaur and to give Centaur better capabilities than EUS with extended mission times allowing LLO for Orion" THIS IS A NASA ADMINISTRATOR

SLS EUS defenders biggest arguments for EUS is variants of SLS that never would have existed or have little to no chance of properly manifesting. "but EUS is 42 tons TLI in only cargo config! 38 tons TLI is crew only!!" yeah because Cargo SLS Block 1B would have been a thing.. let alone normal Block 1B "but its close to 50 tons TLI with Block 2 Cargo!!" cmon vro

This would be a very sad outcome like a year ago with how awful EUS was panning out to be, but now that its with an SLS rocket thats actually not that bad and hopefully with a better cadence increase as Artemis 2-3 is starting to show.. its not that bad of an outcome
I was wrong about SLS possibly going away after Artemis III, IV, or V. It will be around into the 2030s. Some good decisions to excise the EUS albatross and increase fueling reliability make it more palatable. Biggest issue is no commercial rockets stepping up to obviate it.

This HAS to go well or Vulcan Is basically dead in the water against its own competitor it was supposed to wipe the floor with. Wishing good luck
The launch of a United Launch Alliance Vulcan VC6L rocket carrying the next batch of production satellites for @AmazonLeo, Vulcan Leo 1, is planned for Friday, Nov. 13, pending range approval. bit.ly/vulcan_leo1
