Remember when texting cost money?
We'd squeeze an entire conversation into 160 characters using a language only teenagers understood.
Now we have unlimited texts and ignore people for free.
30 years of technological progress.
Absolutely no improvement in communication.

Before AirDrop, there was infrared.
Two phones lined up perfectly. Nobody allowed to move.
You'd watch a blurry photo transfer for 20 minutes, get to 98%, and someone would move half an inch.
TRANSFER FAILED.
We weren't sharing photos. We were training brain surgeons.

1995: Wait a week to see your photos.
2005: Wait 45 minutes to upload one.
2015: Send photos instantly.
2026: Accidentally send 47 screenshots, your grocery list and a picture taken inside your pocket.
Technology has evolved.
Human judgment is still buffering.

Before iMessage, we had MSN Messenger and AOL.
Ridiculous screen names. Dramatic away messages. Signing in and out until someone noticed you.
Then your mom picked up the landline and ended your entire social life.
MSN or AOL?
Bonus points for your embarrassing screen name.

Sharing information shouldn't require a treasure map
A schedule, price list or event details shouldn't need five apps and a scavenger hunt
Sometimes one link sent wherever people already are is enough
Shame really
I was getting pretty good at drawing maps

I have 47 tabs open
This is apparently a problem
I disagree
Closing them means making decisions on behalf of Future Me and I don’t know what he’ll need
So they stay
This isn’t disorganization
It’s infrastructure

Before email existed, did people just leave work and nobody could contact them until the next day?

You can have the right medicine and still fail to get it down.
Messages work the same way.
Email. Text. WhatsApp. DMs.
The prescription?
Deliver it where they’ll actually take it.
No spoon-feeding required.

Sent an important email last Tuesday.
No idea what happened to it.
Spam? Unread? Opened immediately? Buried under 200 newsletters?
Email is weird like that.
You hit send and release it into the wilderness.
With linkoln.io I can at least see if they opened it.

Hugo joined the team this week
He doesn’t answer calls
He doesn’t do email
Barking across the yard is for boomers
He does business exclusively through Instagram
He put the important stuff in a linkoln.io link and sent it via DM

Never thought I'd be writing about MySpace in 2026, yet here we are
It starts with a dead website coming back from the grave and somehow ends up being about why nobody answers your emails
Stick with me, it connects, I promise

You're interrupted every two minutes at work
Not every hour, every two minutes
That's around 275 times a day
We're not working and getting interrupted anymore
We're getting interrupted and occasionally sneaking in some work
And we've started calling this normal

Giving LinkedIn articles a trial run.
Apparently I have thoughts that require more than 3,000 characters.
This one's about why we don't really have a communication problem.
We have a delivery problem.
Let's see if anyone actually reads it.

you have a

No idea, so you refresh your inbox 40 times an hour like a lunatic
