Our support for teacher vaccine mandates does not apply to kids, half of whom can't even get vaccinated yet.
It's far too early to begin thinking about student mandates.
Replying to @CAParentPower
Does this organization support covid vaccine mandate for students in K-12 education ?

Our public health experts are clear – it is safe and necessary for our kids to be back in the classroom. With safety precautions in place, we can and should have all grades at full capacity when the school year begins in August.

No big deal we're just treating children like lepers who have to be kept out of society. This couldn't possibly have long ranging consequences.
The @MetOpera banned children from their performances.
Speechless doesn't begin to cover this development.

Here is the MMWR report the CDC was referring to. Main lessons
1) CDC recommended masking indoors for vax'd this week because delta has higher viral loads making mild breakthroughs more common.
2) CDC is not concluding that a vax'd person is as infectious

If you listen to the news or half the folks on Twitter, you might think childhood hospitalizations for Covid are increasing at a rapid clip. Luckily we have actual data from the CDC. There’s still a lot we don’t know, but for now, I hope parents can rest a bit easier.

Delta is not an excuse to not open schools.
Let me be clear: if public school closure continues you will have damage so deep---wealth inequality and disparities so massive, that democracy itself will be threatened in <10 years.

This is irresponsible messaging. Schools take several measures to mitigate spread - we have no idea what kids are doing during the summer, who they're hanging out with.
There are mountains of data from last year telling us schools are far safer than the wider community.
