Just signed my first ever📚contract today🥳(@degruyter_pub) "The gatekeepers: #American #immigration #Politics & #policies" Grateful to all who have offered support, advice, & drinks on my academic journey so far🥂
Excited to share that I will be the Director of the MA in Public Policy @stonybrooku . It’s a big leap—and as you can see, Freddy is mildly concerned about the packing situation. (He’s still waiting for his honorary degree in Public Barking.)#PublicPolicy #HigherEd #StonyBrook
It was a pleasure to have CA Senator @SenAdamSchiff come speak to my American and Californian Government class today at @CalPoly
I had the pleasure of reviewing Smugglers and States: Negotiating the Maghreb at its Margins @MaxGallien in @IAJournal_CH Great book on the complex relationship between states and the practices of smuggling. Highly recommend!

As of this morning: approx. 36,550 Palestinians have been killed, more than 15,000 of whom are children. 82,959 people have been injured and approximately 10,000 are missing.
This year at @CalPoly has been a whirlwind. With three weeks to prep before the Fall quarter, I definitely followed their motto, "learn by doing." As the year comes to a close, a student made this card for me, and I am grateful.
