A hill that I will die on is that Costco continuing to send these out instead of just crediting accounts automatically is an overlooked wrong to their customers and employees. The amount of churn and busywork created by this 1980's practice is enormous (mailing checks, redeeming checks, customer service etc.)
But it will likely never be done away with. I would guess at least 10% of these checks are lost and not redeemed (ie: money kept in Costco's pocket). Nobody in corporate wants to be the person to propose an initiative that will cost the company hundreds of millions of dollars per year, even if it is the right thing to do.
Random thought: “My child arrived just the other day, He came to the world in the usual way” opening lyrics from Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin may be one of the laziest lines ever written.
Every once in a while I think about that year when you couldn’t say “It’s Been Awhile” without someone breaking out into the Staind song.
This whole thing is quite bizarre. Reminds me of the IRA bombings where they would warn before a detonation.
Just before the Nashville explosion, witnesses in the area report a dire warning coming from the RV: “Evacuate now. There is a bomb. A bomb is in this vehicle and will explode."
Then, the voice started a 15-minute countdown.

Alright folks...after 30 years in Seattle, I’ll be moving to Nashville, TN this week. I promise though I’ll be cheering on/ranting from a far. Apparently there is even a Seahawks bar down there and they call themselves the “Tennesseahawks”. No kidding.

lol lavar just said on first take that the reason he said he didn’t want the lakers to send lonzo to the pelicans is because he DID want them to. “I was playing chess,” he says, which is famously not something a person playing chess would say.
Moonraker is truly an awful Bond film. The plot makes like no sense. #RandomThoughts
