Modern software tooling is amazing. I can go from zero to working thing that I don't understand at all and have zero chance of debugging in a timely fashion quicker than you can say "thank god I don't have to support this thing".

Videos from Bug Bash Europe are starting to drop. First up, @dsymetweets, designer of F# and co-originator of async/await, distinguished engineer at @GitHubNext, on the shift to agentic automation in software development, and what it means for the way we build and maintain code.

Years ago, I ran a team where I had us invest in making sure we could quickly and safely roll back any release and then, I forbade anyone from using it with the mantra "always forward. never back."
I wanted us to go through the process of getting our releases rock solid and easy to undo, I didn't actually want us solving problems by going backwards.

The breakthrough that let us crush Dragon's Lair and Starcraft also makes it *much* easier to set up Antithesis. So we're launching a simpler offering for startups and small teams. DM us for early access, brutal honesty required.
Luck of the Irish/Swedish...
My flight is delayed another 40 minutes cos this plane hit a bird leaving Philly and now needs an inspection

Sometimes there's a huge performance optimization staring at you and you just don't see it- until you do.
Programmers on Twitter. Too many of y'all are way too literal. Ya need to joke to slap ya in the face I guess.
Based on the bugs I encounter all the time with Claude Code, I'm not sure I want a code review tool from the folks at Anthropic.

Managed to meet another dev, whose first-ever fulltime job was also at a company called SenseNet, also building bespoke websites, except it was not this SenseNet, but another SenseNet
This was the company I worked at as my first job
How random...!
(It's @SeanTAllen)
man the "pre-existing fake" brush off seemed to be trained down into the soul of every model that i have used.
I'm in an @AntithesisHQ internal meeting about the guts of "hard tech" part of the product. We do these periodically as "learn more about it". I join each one because each time I learn at least 1 or 2 new things.
But, the thing I am reminded of every time. Pulling off the hard-tech part is doable for anyone- especially now with agents but...
And this is a big but (Sir Mix-a-lot would love it)..
Making it all actually useful is the result of tons and tons really hard learned lessons.
I need to remind myself of that with all my "I can have an agent just..."
Because that "just" is hiding a ton of domain expertise. And a lot of that domain expertise isn't in anyone's training data.
Years ago, I worked out live during a podcast that my idea of beautiful code was code that didn't wake anyone up at 2 am.
And unsurprisingly, I ended up at @AntithesisHQ because I have long been obsessed with software correctness and not letting problems get out into production.
