This one's spectacular. In the 1960s, London's Mews were still being used to keep horses. This clip spoils us with a lovely glimpse of the people, pubs, and lifestyle among the cobbled backstreets that have since become expensive housing. They certainly had more personality then than nowadays. @Britains___Pubs

Notice how when he sees a picture of his original design, he likes it instead of cringing at it or acting embarrassed? Is it so hard for adaptations to do that now?

If you don't have an idea exactly like this ready to go if you ever meet a CBS exec, then I don't know what to tell you. Mine's one where barely reformed misanthrope Ebenezer 'Eb' Scrooge consults with the cops and works through victim's past, present, and future to solve murders

There is a real threat to the English language that it becomes 'Globish'; its status as the de-facto lingua franca, spoken far more as a foreign language than by native speakers, stripping it of idiom or expression. English-speaking universities ought to be a bulwark against this
Oxford University has told staff not to use common phrases such as "learn the ropes" or "find your feet" over fears they confuse foreign students, sparking concern at the new scheme of language policing. dailysceptic.org/2026/10/12/…

a while ago I made a bunch of unhinged requests to Amazon's shopping AI about things like "the best conceal carry holster for my dog" and I'm pleased to announce it's paid off

ALT Home & Family > Has a Doberman that is a guard dog and an ex-police dog Home & Family > Dog was part of a CIA experiment to allow dogs to carry firearms Home & Family > Dog has a bionic prosthetic with recoil suppression Home & Family > Dog has a Glock 40 Home & Family > Dog is highly trained in the use of a Glock 40 Home & Family > Dog is trained in the use of force Home & Family > Has a cat

I do wish people understood that the prose is everything. There is no story “beneath” the prose. Cartesian dualism does not exist for books. There is no distinct soul of a book that can be separated from the body its prose. The experience of reading the language IS the novel.

The way this colorist talks about HDR is how it should be treated by everyone who does anything with it, it’s literally a gun pointed at every frame of a movie, if the proper care isn’t taken you get really bad results. Look at THE TERMINATOR 4K
