ඇල මාර්ග පුළුල් කිරීම ජලය බැස යන මාර්ග වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම ජලය පිටතට ගලායන ස්ථාන වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම සහ නාගරික කානු පද්ධතිය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කිරීම මෙයට ඇතුළත් වුණා.
ව්‍යාපෘතියේ මුළු වියදම ඇමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 223 ක් පමණ වුණා.
එහිදී කොළඹ ඇළ මාර්ග පිරිසිදු කිරීම සහ ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය පවතින ඇල පද්ධති පිරිසිදු කිරීම,ඇලපැතුලේ රොන්මඩ ඉවත් කිරීම, පහත් බිම් වල ජලය රඳවා ගැනීමේ හැකියාව වැඩි කිරීම ,අනවසරයෙන් පහත් බිම් ගොඩ කිරීම පාලනය කිරීම ඒ යටතේ සිදුවුණා.
එමෙන්ම තෙත්බිම් සහ ජලය රඳවා ගැනීමේ ප්‍රදේශ ආරක්ෂා කිරීම යටතේ ගංවතුර පාලනයට ඇලමාර්ග පමණක් ප්‍රමාණවත් නොයන බව තේරුම්ගෙන, වැසිජලය තාවකාලිකව රඳවා ගැනීම සඳහා තෙත්බිම් සහ පහත් බිම් යොදා ගැනීම කටයුතු කරා.
