Just a few hours ago, President Trump said in the Oval Office that I should be tried in court because I dared to talk about the corruption coming out of the White House.
If I've learned one thing from this past year, it's that you have to push back. I'm not going to be intimidated out of standing up for the rule of law and the country that has given me everything.

Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin is pushing back after President Donald Trump said she should be tried in court over remarks she made about investigating members of his administration.
Today marks the third anniversary of the senseless murder of Samantha Woll, a former member of my staff, a proud Jewish woman, and a remarkable community leader whose impact continues to be felt across Metro Detroit and beyond.
Sam believed deeply in the power of people of different faiths, backgrounds, and perspectives to come together, listen to one another, and build a better future. Through her leadership, her advocacy, and her work to strengthen interfaith relationships, she showed us that bridge-building is not simply an ideal but a commitment we must choose every day.
As Sam said, “We do not know where we are going, but we are headed there together.” We have a responsibility to live up to those words and continue the work she cared so deeply about.
May her memory be a blessing, and may her example continue to guide us.

.@SenatorSlotkin is a patriot, who has sworn an oath to serve multiple times. She called out blatant corruption and she was right to do so.
It's unacceptable to use the justice system to threaten your political opponents. These continued attacks against her are dangerous, and they are offensive to the ideals we all hold as Americans. It needs to stop.

Senator Elissa Slotkin’s recent comments about corruption have outraged conservatives, only proving the depth of some Republicans’ loyalty to Donald Trump, @jonathanchait argues: theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…
If you commit a criminal act or use taxpayer dollars in a way that violates the law, you should be held accountable. President Trump and his allies have used manufactured outrage about what I said because they wanna talk about anything but what's going on right now in places like Michigan.
So why are the President and his allies attacking me? They are trying to distract from the real story of his failed agenda to lower your costs. To distract from the high price of gas.
This is all because I talked about accountability for corruption. I don't think it works because the American people are not stupid.

Over the last few days, I’ve gotten a bunch of concerned calls from Michiganders about the escalating violence in Albania, among other European countries.
The Albanian people have the right to protest peacefully and hold their elected officials accountable. Likewise, the Albanian government has a duty to uphold the rule of law, protect protestors against the excessive use of police force, clean up corruption, and respond to citizens’ concerns. I urge both sides to do all they can to deescalate and find a peaceful way to move forward.
President Trump has always had a bromance with Vladimir Putin, and it’s clear he wants him to win this winter in Ukraine. So now he's lifting sanctions to help fuel Vladimir Putin and his war machine.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin: "I think there's been plenty of people, Democrat and Republican, Independents, who would say, like, 'Can we just not threaten violence against each other for our words?'"
How do authoritarian tactics work? The goal is to create so many threats against you, your family, and your staff that you shut up. They wanna manufacture outrage. They all start repeating the same talking points.
The goal is to crush your spirit. That fear becomes contagious. We can't let it.
When you call out their corruption, President Trump and his allies don't like that. They attack you. They intimidate you.
It's not going to work, because I believe this is simple. If you break the law, you should be held accountable.
Why are Trump and his allies attacking me? I touched a nerve because I talked about corruption. The average person understands that the president is enriching himself and using taxpayer dollars to do it. It triggers them when you bring that up.
.@POTUS: "That's a hell of a statement. Slotkin said that there should be prosecutions in order to scare people from going into politics. That's a Democrat and that's what they do. That's all they're good at — and you know what? That's why they're getting their asses kicked."
