Seoul, South Korea — Paper Rex has made the difficult decision to move Aaron "Mindfreak" Leonhart from the active roster to reserve status. However, Mindfreak has expressed his desire to continue competing at the highest levels and Paper Rex has allowed him to explore offers and opportunities as a restricted free-agent. Mindfreak has been with the team since the inaugural VCT seasons and has greatly contributed to the team's successes past and present.
“Aaron is a fierce competitor and an incredibly cerebral player with a wealth of experience in his roles. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have him on our reserve roster, ready to step in should emergencies arise in Stage 2. Throughout the course of our journey, Aaron has been nothing short of professional and a strong team player throughout his tenure with us. Most recently, working closely with his teammates in his coaching role to take us across the finish line at VALORANT Masters Toronto. However, Aaron has expressed to us his burning desire to actively play and compete again, and Paper Rex does not want to hold talent like him back from exploring opportunities.” — Harley "dsn" Örvall, Chief Gaming Officer (CGO), Paper Rex.
Mindfreak joined Paper Rex as one of its earliest members of the CS:GO team in 2020 and transitioned to VALORANT in early 2021. Together with Paper Rex, he has qualified for 3 VALORANT Champions and 8 VALORANT Masters events to date.
Paper Rex now has the following roster:
🇲🇾 Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee
🇮🇩 Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto
🇷🇺 Ilya "something" Petrov
🇸🇬 Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie
🇵🇭 Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza
🇮🇩 Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart (Reserve)
🇫🇷 Alexandre “alecks” Sallé (Head Coach)
🇸🇬 Kumeresan "Tommy" Ramani (Team Manager)

In the coming few days it is likely you will see some major esports content creators announce their participation in the Esports World Cup.
It is important to note that these people DO NOT need the money and yet have chosen to take massive payouts, including some in the high six figures.
They are willingly becoming complicit in a Saudi effort to cover up human rights abuses.
Saudi Arabia has only increased their imprisonment and execution of political dissidents since they launched the Esports World Cup.
It is ethically IMPOSSIBLE to say that you care about women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, freedom of speech, democratic society, secularism, due process, or almost any other Western core values while working at or to promote the Esports World Cup.
It is even more despicable when it’s done by people who already have huge amounts of money and could easily turn it down.
It is also not possible to plead ignorance about the Saudi goal of sportswashing when people are clearly being offered sums of money far above reasonable market rate. The only purpose behind these huge payouts is to buy silence and promotion of the Saudi regime. If you can’t see that, you are a fucking moron.

Hey guys, I'm writing this today because I don't know what other options I have left. I recently found out that my mother's cancer has come back & it's been affecting me a lot. She's the strongest, nicest & most positive person that has been in my life & I really couldn't imagine life without her.
While she was waiting for insurance to clear her chemo, she was admitted to the ER because she was having trouble breathing. They found fluid in her lungs and were able to remove it. She is now recovering at the hospital where she just finished her 1st chemotherapy treatment since being in remission.
While I'm hopeful and trying to remain positive, I still can't think of how much of a financial burden it's going to be on my family. I hate asking for anything and am someone that is firm on not taking handouts, help etc... but I feel that I've hit a brick wall at this point and don't know what other options I have.
I've made a go-fund me below for anyone that is kind enough to help support my family through this time. She's beaten cancer once and she plans on beating it again. Thank you 🖤
