Fun fact: A robinβs eyes are so sensitive to Earth's magnetic field that scientists believe they can actually see the Earth's magnetic field.
Their eyes contain light-sensitive proteins called cryptochromes that may allow them to perceive magnetic fields as visual patterns.

Sheep of the Day #7, Chrysomallos, 'Golden Hair', the talking ram who flew Phrixus & Helle o'er the fish-infested sea to Georgia, where he sacrificed himself and became The Golden Fleece. Poor Helle has already fallen off to give her name to the Hellespont, so we're mid-Black Sea

Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating today! πͺβ¨β€οΈ
One of the things I love about @Leicester_News is the incredible diversity of the communities that call our city home.
Weβre lucky to live and work alongside so many different cultures, faiths and traditions, and to have opportunities to celebrate and learn from one another.
And today, Leicester does Diwali in a pretty special way! β€οΈ
Thousands of people will come together around Belgrave and Melton Road β our famous Golden Mile β for celebrations that are among the largest outside India.
For me, thatβs what a diverse city should be about.
Not simply living alongside one another, but sharing, celebrating and belonging together. β€οΈ
Wishing everyone celebrating a joyful, peaceful and prosperous Diwali.
Happy Diwali, Leicester! πͺβ¨β€οΈ

Remembrance Sunday is always a special day for me, not only the family and friends Iβve lost but the millions I never knew who lost their lives as well.
Take a second to remember them please.

First translation of Facing down the Furies is into Spanish. The Spaniards always seem to like my work. Other translations to come! I prefer the Anglophone blue furies to this alabaster lady with a bad hair day though.
