Tight #oil production fell by 2% m-o-m in North Dakota in December, to 1.1 million b/d. But the number of #rigs drilling horizontal #wells has tripled from the lows in 2020, and now a small growth in output is likely. More in our latest post on this basin: bit.ly/33wFyBN

US tight oil has lost 2 million b/d in the last 12 months. But another 6 hz. rigs were added in the last week (Baker Hughes), with 5 in the Permian.

Last week 11 more rigs started drilling horizontal wells in the Lower 48, the largest gain in 3 months (=281, Baker Hughes).

With just 10 rigs active and productivity peaking, the outlook is grim. @conocophillips had still 70% of its production curtailed: bit.ly/33W48bw

The horizontal rig count in the Lower 48 increased by 1 last week to 215 (Baker Hughes). This was the same level as 2 months ago, with very little variation between the basins.
