It was a true pleasure to be received by my brother, H.E. Amb. Teshome Shunde, at the Ethiopian Mission in Somaliland. I sincerely thank you, Ambassador, and the sisterly Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for your warmth and encouraging wishes as I begin my assignment in Addis Ababa. The strength of relations between nations rests not on geography alone, but on the mutual respect and trust cultivated by those who steward them. In a spirit of vision and statesmanship, the President set forth his aspirations and expectations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering us clear guidance and his heartfelt best wishes as we embark upon our diplomatic journey. With deep gratitude, we acknowledged the confidence and trust the President has reposed in us—a trust we hold sacred. We solemnly reaffirmed our unwavering commitment and resolute readiness to pursue, with dedication and unity, the noble national aspiration of international recognition and a prosperous Somaliland.
