and the “ring of steel?” question we put to government 6 years ago
#Covid19 has now claimed the lives of around 15,000 care home residents across the UK.
Who is responsible for their deaths ?
Covid left a trail of such memories..

One of the most emotional days of my life giving my daughter a hug after months of being apart and scared of Covid 😢 #imagesofthepandemic
Lovely to report on @BBCNews today that the #Sycamore gap stump is now sprouting lots of new shoots - up to 3-feet tall.
Hope is now growing that in a few decades we just might have our tree back❤️@nationaltrust
So much to love about the North East - the seaside, the people and of course the Great North Run.. especially lovely to walk past this baby Sycamore Gap tree on the way to the start ‘the sapling stands as a living symbol of resilience and hope’

The Prime Minister @andyburnham says
the hundreds of harmed breast cancer patients in County Durham will get "all of the answers they need".
He will ensure the "fullest possible inquiry".
It follows a year long BBC Investigation and as the trust agrees to re-examining a further 4,500 patient medical files.
Thank you Lucy !

Thanks Peter - and thanks to so many others who helped us tell this story ❤️
Brilliant and hugely important investigative journalism by @SharonBarbour and the BBC to expose the scandal of women having needless mastectomies while being treated by the @CDDFTNHS. Sadly, it looks like the scandal could grow as more files are examined

This is a massive health scandal. Dogged investigation by @SharonBarbour. The ex-CEO of the FT (and the Board chair) have disappeared into the ether. Where’s the accountability?
