One of the best empty net goals I’ve seen. Spins, basically 1-on-3. Wow. #Sabres

Immediately replayed that third Sabres goal to hear the crowd react in unison. Chills. Holy Buffalo!

Wow. So powerful. When the Sabres clinched a playoff spot, I showed my oldest daughter (born in Buffalo) the original Better Days pregame video. It’s been in her pregame softball pump-up playlist since. Can’t wait to watch the Sabres, and the city, in the playoffs.

So happy for the awesome hockey fans of WNY. Sabres Stanley Cup Playoff hockey is back. Hard to believe it’s been 15 years since I was in Philly covering Buffalo’s last playoff game. Will never forget it. Now, if you could help out the Caps tonight that would be great. Thanks. 😉

One of the reasons I’ll never forget that Sabres Game 7 loss to the Flyers in 2011: postgame dressing room, media enters, all players have taken gear off and ready for interviews. Except one…

Mike Grier sat fully dressed - head to toe, helmet to sweater to tied skates - at his locker. His head was in his hands, crying. It was his final game. One of the classiest, most respected players in hockey. I knew then how privileged I was to experience such a personal moment.
