GM GM Sunday Sermon “Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.” - Luke 17:33 This world is seriously messed up. No matter where you stand. you can see people selling/losing their mind, body, and soul for what? A moment in time, a make believe, a feeling, money?!? Is it really worth it?!? When Jesus says you have to “lose your life” some translations even say “hate” your life in order to gain ever lasting life. Now I know what some of you are thinking…. Perfect I already hate myself and everything around me, I’m half way there. That’s not what he means. Jesus means you need to hate your life of sin, that you need to completely leave that life behind to be reborn again. You can’t have one foot in heaven and one in hell. Your relationship with Jesus is an all or nothing kind of thing. Jesus isn’t an situationship…. Other cultures have understood this simple concept as well, you can’t have two masters, you can’t feed two wolves… and so on and so forth. Breaks down to good or evil. Jesus doesn’t ask anything of us that He himself wasn’t willing to walk through. Jesus gave up His life on this Earth to Die for your sins. He was made fun of, ridiculed, beaten and killed because He went against the world. Maybe you are in love with your life of sin and you aren’t ready to give it up, maybe your life is to comfortable for you to want to give it up, I get it, I’ve been there. But maybe you will be lucky enough for your whole life to come crashing down and you can start to see who Jesus really is and what He means for you.
