You misrepresent what people are saying when they say the game is dying. They don't mean on the financial decline. They mean the game itself. If card sales are primarily being done by whales, scalpers and pack opening channels and not players. That's a problem. If the only format seeing any growth in recorded play is Commander, that is a problem. This game IS dying. Just very slowly and pretty deliberately.
What do you think will happen to this game when the drafters and constructed players all move on? Commander players don't spend that much on the game on the average and the scalpers will eventually abandon the empty market. When that happens Hasbro will experience one of the largest economic crashes in modern history, they will pull Wizards of the Coast apart piece by piece selling it off to build their golden parachutes and Chris Cox will likely keep the licensing so he can own it forever.

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby – 7th EVENT: THE STAGE in LOS ANGELES concerts planned for Oct 22–23, 2026.
Although we have coordinated repeatedly with all parties concerned and explored every possible option in our efforts to make this event happen, we were unable to obtain the necessary visas for entry into the US, so we have come to the painful conclusion that holding the concerts is no longer possible.
To all the Trainers who were eagerly looking forward to the show, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this causes, and for announcing this so close to the event date.
