Leipzig have looked quite underwhelming so far And now Seiwald has got a second yellow which won't help them

It's back!!!!! 😍 But a goal has been missed 😭
Unless I'm being stupid, the RB Leipzig stream on DFB Play just completely cut and now it won't reload with the match 😅

Watching Kyoto Sanga vs Newcastle Jets, can't believe the penalty decision Defender used his arm to support him whilst sliding to block a cross. No intention to handle the ball

Salford, excellent 👏

Salford looking to go man-to-man where possible in their defending, Walsall trying the up and down patterns with their passes in build-up to drag markers in to then attack space beyond with runs from Pressley/Sodje The execution to exploit hasn't been there yet, but it's interesting that they've tried it a few times and it's almost worked out

I'm really looking forward to Walsall vs Salford, should be a brilliant game!

Defending in a 4-2-4, this is how I think it should be done Michael Carrick has the 4-2-4 idea. But the big issue for his Manchester United team is that it's a passive zonal block with below par physical conditioning. When to jump in Utd's case is unknown, the effect of the jumps are not the ones desired

🇩🇪🧵 Vincent Wagner - The game model that defines SV Elversberg Vincent Wagner made history, securing promotion to the Bundesliga with SV Elversberg! But what makes him one of the most fascinating young coaches in European football? Here, I take a look!

It seems like Manchester United will get rid of Michael Carrick If they really want to go completely out of the box, Vincent Wagner could be a name thrown into the hat 🤔 (Read the thread below 🙏)

Proactive defending and forward thinking technical play go hand in hand Paris Saint-Germain are the best at both. Without one or the other, you are only half
🚨Carrick: “I think you've got to be careful with just saying ‘not running’. We’ve won a lot of games over a period of time and this pressing thing, that suddenly everyone thinks about pressing. Pressing is one small part of football. There's all sorts of different ways of what people class as a press. What actually is it? What you're doing it for? Is it to your strength? Is it covering up other spaces? It's just thrown about as a bit of a word at the minute of pressing. You don't necessarily need to press to win games of football. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. It's just a thing that gets thrown about.”

Why do I always have to jinx something 😭
Since Liam Rosenior changed his team's shape at half time to match RC Lens man-to-man, they've arguably been the better team. During the first half, Lens were enjoying half-space entries and having an extra body out wide through the wing-back as well as overall control of the match Now, with about 15 minutes to go, its a match of margin. Been a good watch

That finish from Thauvin was absolutely brilliant! Reversed into bottom right corner, with bodies in front making it harder. What a player

The thing that sets their game model apart from others in a similar position is that there is room for adaptation and varying interpretations For instance, yes you might want to press in an aggressive manner. But the emphasis the coach places on the idea is to press aggressively within set conditions as a collective. These conditions are the triggers (ball goes wide, ball goes central) and as a collective this is set by those at the front If the front players decide not to press, collectively the team blocks together as a tight unit. If the front player then chooses to engange, everyone else then follows in a domino like effect
Elversberg might be one of the most underrated teams in Europe Newly promoted and didn't necessarily invest in 'big' players where a lot of trust has been placed on what they had from last season + some younger additions And despite a big step up in opposition quality, they've been able to maintain their principles of play whilst being competitive. A lot of credit for the coaches and players
