They cut Chris Jones after this year then what? George Karlaftis led pass rush? Veach can't hit on DL. Would need to find a true #1 Marquee pass rusher. Easier said than done.

Incredible trade by John Schneider. Will the chiefs go get Josh downs?

@AdamSchefter2h
Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

I just don't care. The play where he got juked by Sam Darnold and he ran for a first down on 3rd and long is why all the "pressures" ring hollow after a while. You get paid $22 million a year. Put the QB's ass on the ground. Beat someone. One sack through 6 games.

Karlaftis is one of the bright spots along the line so far. He's T-1st in QB hits with 16, yet is the only DE that's top 10 in pressures with 1 sack. In fact, nobody in KC has more than 1 sack on the year right now through 7 weeks. 8 total so far, which is bottom 3 in the NFL.

It's year five of George Karlaftis in the league and we're still talking about the pressure is not consistently turning into sacks this is who he is. He's a great guy to have if you're putting him next to another Marquee pass rusher. By himself it's not really making an impact.

Is it too late for the Chiefs to go 5-12 and get Jeremiah Smith so Mahomes has a #1 WR again?

I don't know how you can objectively say he's done a good job. It's whiff after whiff at positions of need and same issues every year. That's my stance

Genuinely how does Brett Veach have a job

And people will say "but he signed Kenneth Walker" but a move was needed like 3 years ago at RB and it was inexcusable to ever let it become that bad. It's like rewarding your kid with going out to eat after you asked him to clean his room 10 times.

Harrison Butker is kicking at 68.8% this season (33.3% on 50+). Harrison Mevis got cut at 55.6%. Butker is one of the highest paid kickers, but Butker is playing way too close to the level of a kicker teams are willing to move on from.

The Chiefs are the only NFL team in the Super Bowl era to have a game with: no 10+ yard rushes no 20+ yard passes no red-zone drives no touchdowns multiple missed field goals

The Chiefs defense is allowing opponents to convert 41.9% of third downs this season. Nearly half of all third-down attempts are moving the chains. You can't consistently win games when your defense can't get off the field.
