Jerry Glanville has a weekly segment on 97.7 FM in Huntsville every Monday at 5:00. It’s pretty awesome. Great stories & he’s still sharp on analyzing CFB & NFL games. He’d be better than a lot of NFL talking heads on TV on Sundays

How NFL Sunday looked 53 years ago today
A no-holds-barred free-for-all played in mud and on green concrete.
A sport very different than that of today.
Consider this when comparing players' statistics from different eras.

Outstanding interview with Burt Reynolds. Loni Anderson could break Onassis
Burt Reynolds was once the biggest box office star in Hollywood. At 79, his proof that he wasn't broke was a red tie.
2015. His Florida home. A TV crew asks him to set the record straight.
"I'm not bankrupt. If I was bankrupt, I wouldn't have my red tie on."
At his peak he made $10 million a year.
Then came the restaurants. Po' Folks. Daisy's Diner. Both failed. $20 million gone, and he had signed for it personally.
1996. Chapter 11.
His second wife, Loni Anderson? He says she maxed out a $45,000 credit card in half an hour.
"She liked to spend money. Mine."
"I really couldn't afford her."
He turned down Han Solo, James Bond and Pretty Woman.
Which one does he regret most?
"All of those. I wish I had done them all."
His advice: "Watch out who your friends are."
In the '80s he was worth an estimated $200 million. When he died in 2018, about $500,000.
Would he marry again?
"No, ma'am."
"Check, please."

While field-goal kicking has seemed to haunt @AlabamaFTBL fans now and again, that wasn’t the case 37 years ago in Happy Valley.
No. 6-ranked Alabama survived a trip to State College, Pa., with a miraculous 17-16 victory over No. 14-ranked Penn State when Thomas Rayam broke through the line and blocked a last-second, chip-shot field goal attempt by Nittany Lion place-kicker Ray Tarasi on Oct. 28, 1989.
Behind the running of Blair Thomas, who carried it 11 consecutive times on the last drive, Penn State drove to the Alabama 1-yard line with 13 seconds remaining. Instead of going for a touchdown, Nittany Lion coach Joe Paterno decided to place the outcome on the foot of Tarasi with a 17-yard field goal attempt. Tarasi had already made three field goals in the game.
On a special teams play called “Desperation Block,” Rayam used every inch of his 6-foot-7 body to swat away the kick from Tarasi to keep Alabama undefeated at 7-0.
“I didn’t see (the ball),” Rayam said after the game. “I just threw my hands up.”
Siran Stacy led an Alabama offense that misfired at times with 106 yards rushing which included a 12-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Gary Hollingsworth threw four interceptions, but threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Lamonde Russell. Philip Doyle also added a field goal for the Crimson Tide.

Listening to the new Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarists play Free Bird, I can tell they’re more than a tribute band. Ford & GM are still Ford & GM when employees retire & pass on. So are bands like Foreigner & Skynyrd. Keep it rolling !

Last night’s @rockthecountry_ show in Ashland, KY might just be the best concert experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a lot of shows over the years, but something about seeing Brantley Gilbert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Jelly Roll all in one night felt different!
I didn’t just hear the music I felt it. I’m not a singer or a dancer by any means, but there I was, doing both. Brantley Gilbert brought that small‑town country grit and rock edge. Lynyrd Skynyrd took me straight back to my younger days, reminding me why their songs are now called classics. And Jelly Roll, he took us to church, preached to the crowd, and made us feel what he has felt and overcame that we all have felt at one point in our life and closed the night that i did not want to end.
Good music. Great friends. And Memories that matter more than anything. Remember whats important, One day these will be the stories we tell! #LiveForTheLittleThings #TonyDaTiger #FanOfFans #CharityMatters #DoGood

(I forgot to post this yesterday) Fifty-one years ago on October 25, 1975, Evel Knievel made history by successfully jumping 14 Greyhound buses at Kings Island in Ohio. Flying 133 feet on his Harley-Davidson XR-750, the legendary stuntman achieved the longest successful jump of his career and drew a record-breaking 52% television audience on ABC's Wide World of Sports. The historic leap served as the ultimate redemption after his horrific Wembley Stadium crash just five months earlier, setting a world record that stood unbroken for 24 years. I loved watching him as a kid.
Looks like former Bama QB, David Smith , helped SC beat Tennessee, according to Vols fans

Because that's not what Dave Smith was paid for. Dave Smith was paid for South Carolina to win no matter what.
