bbc.co.uk/news/disability-56… "She hadn't experienced a mental breakdown - she had, in fact, had encephalitis..." Lucy Dawson was sectioned, given APs and went on to have three rounds of ECT. During a three month stay in a psych ward an accident would leave her permanently disabled.

Actual privacy and confidentiality if you have children. Too many parents mental health is used against them in family court proceedings and social services interventions.

1) funding 2) the eligibility of certain staff being able to work with MH sufferers solely as a way to have power over vulnerable people, esp when sectioned. the attitude of looking down on patients & treating them like dirt, cos they perceive them as lesser beings needs to stop.

I would want insurance companies in the US, as well as health care providers, local/state/national governments to make mental health diagnoses/treatment at least as equal to other medical diseases/disorders as far as coverage, technology, providers available, rooms, etc.

More prevention, eg universal basic income-so much chronic stress, ACEs, etc. come from poverty. Then, better medical workups to rule out medical causes of symptoms. Finally, evidence based quality psychotherapy & pharmacotherapy available to all, regardless of income.

I would agree money, but would include more funding for new drug treatments like psychedelics, I’m sick of antidepressants making me manic and all the side effects from antipsychotics. I am optimistic that trials are going well and would like more options.

Hard time with just one...The entire acute inpatient process: 72 hr holds, How patients are treated in inpatient, How we have police without Healthcare providers respond to a mental health crises when it is a mental *health* emergency. Our system shouldn't be adding to the trauma

Not every child who is being abused displays it outwardly in their behaviour. Some become model students because they shrink themselves as a protective factor so they are not noticed. I am sick to death of so called professionals saying all abused children display it outwardly and that this behaviour continues into adulthood …….THEY DO NOT. I was a wild unruly child/teen yet my sister was gentle, quiet, timid and laid back and just got on with her schoolwork and was a ‘model’ pupil. We were like chalk and cheese behaviourally but lived through similar experiences as children.

At 16, I was placed in a bedsit with two older men who were both alcoholics. The place was dangerous and unsuitable for a 16 year old boy leaving care and starting an independent life. No one listened when I begged for somewhere safe to live. I ended up falling behind on my bills because I had no money or support, and before I knew it, I was homeless. That's how quickly it can happen, and you have no control over it whatsoever. It is not a lifestyle choice. @SuellaBraverman

I seriously cannot fathom how it’s acceptable to suffer from PSSD and Akathisia. How is it even possible to feel this way? I cant get over how this joke of a medical system lets this happen and then has no treatment to back it up. It’s like a major slap in the face. Disgusting.

Say, based on experience and documented fact, that psych drugs cause suicide, homicide, PSSD,cancer, emotional blunting, akathisia, dyskynesia, are marketed and prescribed without informed consent, and you will be dismissed as an uneducated, far right-wing conspiracy theorist.

'Pillshaming' the trope used by mh professionals, taught to vulnerable patients to silence the voices speaking truth that psychiatric drugs are causing life destroying harm. Including death. #informedconsent

I watched a crime show about a young woman in the Phillipines who killed her British husband. The show made him out to be a saviour who took her away from the night life. But actually he groomed her as a teen. Groomers always paint themselves as saviours of some kind.
