Brighton 👏🏽. What a team. A club with a clear philosophy. No matter which player or manager leaves they’ve already identified adequate replacements. 15th in net spend, 3rd in the league. It’ll be interesting to see if they can take the next step up within the next 5 years

Josh Acheampong is a baller and he’s only 20 years young. He can become elite him.
Love his game 👏🏾
This lot could end the weekend in the relegation zone and they’re dancing. You’re 16th, pick the ball up and go again. My head would be hot. Worse because it’s offside. Keep Carrick in the job until after we play them man 🤞🏽
I think the fantasy genre as a whole has been a failure when it comes to adaptations (post GoT). The thing producers aren’t grasping is, to make it a success you have to get the die hard nerds onside and to do that you have to be as close to book cannon as possible.
I was talking to a few Tolkien people recently and it struck me ... the "franchise" is struggling.
Since the Peter Jackson LOTR films, we have had:
- The Hobbit films, which were profitable, but a step down from the LOTR films
- War of the Rohirrim, which was neither profitable nor critically acclaimed
- The Rings of Power, which has succeeded on Amazon's own terms, but has far from universal acclaim
- When was the last great LOTR video game? Shadow of Mordor? That was 12 years ago.
Lord of the Rings is no longer the gold standard when it comes to fantasy adaptations.
We really, really need The Hunt for Gollum to work both commercially and critically.
Reading’s been one of the best things I got back into this year. Cured my brain rot, way less doom scrolling and the books are always better than the film/show. 14 books down and all bangers. I need some good non-fiction recommendations now though

Feel for the lad. Always maintained from day 1 he'd never make it here or at the top level but at a time where he needed games, that Villa loan destroyed him physically and it seems mentally too. Long way back for the lad, we cant afford to have sentiment, hes not good enough.
🚨@lewissteele_: Julian Burgos, a Valencia expert: ‘At the moment, I don’t think he has adapted… he has been a significant disappointment, especially considering he arrived with the pedigree of coming from #LFC.
It is true that he has been putting in the work over the last few weeks, and he appears to be in better physical shape.
Honestly, if the option to terminate the loan arises, Valencia will likely pursue it. With a new sporting director and manager – compounded by the team’s poor form – it seems they will look to undo many of the moves made by the previous sporting director, the Scotsman Ron Gourlay.

I’ll always prefer technicians in midfield over PNP. Gerrard and Kdb are the exception because they could do it all and aside from them, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Thiago, Kroos, Pirlo, Busquets, Vitinha etc are the type that I’ve enjoyed watching the most
You have to credit Iraola for bringing the fight and aggression back. And is it just me or week by week is the press going up in intensity? Slow but steady progress. By the end of November I feel like we’ll look even better
Think Iraola deserves far more credit than the general consensus seems to be right now, he’s lost ONE match at Liverpool, to City. They’re 3 wins from 3 in the UCL, on 15 points after 8 games (71-ish point pace), utilising Nyoni, Koumas, Rio, McConnell. They were one of the teams whose transfer business was most worrying, Araujo’s done well but RB, LB, central midfield, he’s managed those issues near-perfectly. Still so much to be improved on even from a coaching POV but in a transition season with a sub optimal “rebuild” in the summer, you couldn’t have asked for much more.
Trey Nyoni deserves to start on the weekend. That performance shows he belongs at this level. I don’t want to get on the Grav hate train because we all know poor that performance was. But the reality is in 2026 Nyoni is playing better than him.
First half we looked really good at times, felt in control of the game, some brilliant pressing, but that final ball is really lacking. Second half felt like we lost control, game became scrappy and when in good positions some terrible decision making. Fair play to Mama 👏🏽

The Fellowship and two towers are objectively better than dune part 1 and part 2…and I doubt dune part 3 will be superior to the return of the king
I just don’t think dune has as much impact culturally as Lord of the rings did, I think it’s almost impossible to beat

100m is crazy. Potential to be a very good player but 100m? I’m hoping we go back to shrewd signings for midfield and fullback. I’d rather Camara over Scott, seems to be more rounded and what we need. Scott may have the verticality. Camara has the better defensive traits imo.
Chelsea increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in January.
Scott is Chelsea’s top target after Enzo Fernandez’s left for Manchester City on deadline day over the summer.
Bournemouth want £100m+ and Xabi Alonso’s side are already in fresh talks having made multiple bids over the summer.
Liverpool also hold an interest in Scott, but have less urgency to add a midfielder in January. Monaco's Lamine Camara, who Chelsea failed to sign on deadline day, and Roma's Manu Kone are two other targets.🍒

Congrats to Kane. Unreal goal scoring season no matter how you look at it. Worked his ass off to get to this level. But i genuinely don’t know the metric for deciding who wins that trophy anymore. G/A? Trophies? Turning up in big games? Goals scored per competition?
