Peter and Rich each had $2,500.
Peter bought Bitcoin and held it
Rich bought an S19 miner and ran it on 7 cent power, selling a little of what it mined to cover the electric bill.
Rich sells the machine at year 2: 75% more Bitcoin than Peter.
Rich keeps mining to year 4: 25% more.
Two extra years of mining cost him Bitcoin.
Mine vs buy comes down to two levers you control:
what you pay for the machine and what you pay for power.
The full math is in our free guide, Mine vs Buy Bitcoin: The 2027 Math, with a prompt that runs it on your own numbers.

Bitcoin is down about 5% two days after the midterms, trading with chip stocks as markets price tighter rules on AI data centers.
That's the ballot moving the short run.
The long run runs on a different clock. Bitcoin was higher a year after each of the last three midterms.
2014: +17%.
2018: +44%.
2022: +90%.
Every one of those elections landed 17 to 20 months before a halving.
This one lands about 17 months before the next...

Things investors regret not doing in 2017:
• Buying Bitcoin
• Locking in a 4% mortgage
Things investors will regret not doing in 2026:
Step 3: Qualify to use the loss against other income.
That takes more than 500 hours a year, or more than 100 hours and at least as much as anyone else, your host's staff included.
Without it, the loss is passive and can still offset passive income.
I don't know who needs to read this, but Satoshi invented Bitcoin instead of running for President for a reason.
The IRS doesn't care what you bought.
It only cares what you report.
Many investors send the IRS a check first.
Then they buy Bitcoin with what's left.
Some business owners do it the other way.
They buy Bitcoin miners first.
Then the check to the IRS can be smaller.

The silent profit killer you’ve never heard of...
Paying for hours your miner isn’t running.
Take one Antminer S21 XP Hydro and two hypothetical hosts:
Host A: $0.08 per kWh, 95% uptime.
Host B: $0.06 per kWh, 75% uptime, billed for every hour.
Host B looks 25% cheaper on the rate sheet.
But host A still earns more.
A rate only tells you the price of an hour.
Uptime and billing tell you how many hours you get for it.
Before comparing rates, ask four things:
• Do I pay while my machine is offline?
• How fast do repairs happen?
• How is uptime measured?
• What does leaving cost?
A cheap rate is how a $100,000 setup can turn into a disaster.
