Nothing says fully secure more than internet-connected infrastructure on your military base.
The Pentagon is treating a rash of freezer malfunctions that affected refrigeration and freezer units at commissaries at several U.S. military bases in August as a suspected cyberattack, according to four officials familiar with the matter who spoke to Reuters. The Pentagon said a Cyber Command unit is “working in close coordination with interagency and law enforcement partners” in the ongoing investigation.
At least six on base commissaries were affected in late August, per Reuters’ review of base social media posts. In at least one case, the cooling units’ temperatures were raised overnight, resulting in spoiled food. Fort Huachuca, Arizona, posted that its freezer “went into defrost mode where it heated up all the food.”
One official said investigators have been in touch with French counterparts about a similar attack that hit more than 350 French supermarkets earlier this month.

Time to rebrand as POUNDBEFORETAXLAND
Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.
What would we do without the EU and NATO to protect us?
BREAKING: The container ship CONTSHIP JET (IMO 9348625) struck by three maritime drones in the Black Sea off Bulgaria’s coast, sank around midnight, Bulgarian authorities have confirmed.
All 18 crew members were rescued. The vessel was carrying 421 containers, including fuel and other hazardous materials.
🇧🇬 This morning, Bulgarian authorities will collect seawater samples at five coastal locations to check for possible marine pollution following the sinking and assess the environmental risks posed by the ship’s cargo.

Catherine Schell couldn’t survive multiple takes of Peter Sellers’ Bogart impression in Return of the Pink Panther (1975) without breaking.
Blake Edwards finally had to give up and leave them in the final cut.

This is really ground breaking technology.
I’m so stoked to see what people will create with this.
Introducing Reality-Aware Rendering in @Simulon, a completely new way to create with the real world.
Place neural assets with your phone and act out the scene. When you stop recording, Simulon renders the take, reading everything in it (what you do, what you say and the place around you), and your assets respond to all of it.
The final is regenerated from your recording: a new performance of the scene, not a copy of the footage.
Available now on iPhone. Coming to Android soon.
