Arrant NONSENSE!!
I slept in the same room with two big python unknowingly.
During my NYSC days, I served in Ogidi, Idemili. If you know Ogidi very well, especially around Iyi-Enu Hospital, you'll understand the tradition. They don't kill pythons in that community. If you mistakenly kill one, you're expected to give it a proper burial, just like a human being.
My landlady had already briefed me about their culture, so I was always careful. But I never imagined I'd experience it firsthand.
One particular day, I washed my clothes, spread them on the fence and went to church. I returned at night and went straight to pack my clothes. Without checking them properly, I gathered everything and dumped them on my bed.
Unknown to me, TWO BIG PYTHONS were hiding among the clothes!
I slept on the other side of the bed. Each time I rolled over and moved closer to the clothes, I felt something cold against my body. I assumed it was just some damp clothes that needed more sunlight.
The funny thing? I slept comfortably all through the night!
It wasn't until the following morning, when I started sorting out my clothes, that I discovered what I had been sharing my bed with.
TWO HUGE PYTHONS!
I screamed so loudly that I eventually fainted. My landlord had to come and remove them.
Imagine sleeping peacefully beside two pythons all night and waking up to discover your roommates! π
Till today, I still wonder what would have happened if I had rolled over to the other side of that bed.
My second encounter was in my kitchen π±

This was what I did to get over my math challenge too.
In SS 2, I went back to JSS 1math textbook and started building from there. Self-learning.
My brain as a 16-year-old in SS2 clearly better than as an 11-year-old when I was originally in JSS 1, so I grasped it better.
Then I moved to JSS 2 math, then JSS 3, then SS1. All within weeks.
I ended up being good in math. I did by going back to basics as an adult.
PS: I never noticed Alex had the challenge he mentioned. I can't remember seeing any error in his tweets. Surprised Madam Oby considered it bad enough (rather than being a one-off typo) to give that advice.
A few months ago, my grammar was not particularly great, especially here on X.
Then, one beautiful morning, I received a call from Dr. Oby Ezekwesili ( @obyezeks ) that changed that aspect of my life forever.
She advised me to go back to Primary 3 and rebuild my foundation in English.
She said something profound: Once you fix the foundation, everything else begins to fall into place.
I took her advice wholeheartedly. I went back to study Primary 3 Grammar and Comprehension, and that simple decision transformed my command of English.
I remain deeply grateful to @obyezeks for that invaluable piece of advice. Its impact on my life has been remarkable.
But this experience taught me something much bigger about education.
Many of us are struggling today, not because we lack intelligence, but because we are building on weak educational foundations.
We keep trying to fix problems at the top when the real problems are at the bottom.
Sometimes, the greatest form of progress is having the humility to go back to the basics and rebuild properly.
You cannot build excellence on a foundation you have refused to repair.

Nigeria Primary English 3 was the main book, and I added other sources to improve my learning outcomes.
