Digital IDs should not give authorities the ability to track where or when you use it.
Today, Brave and other privacy advocates are calling on authorities across the world to reject any identity systems that can "phone home."

The American government used a Russian agent, Natalia Koshkina, as an interpreter during negotiations about ending the war that Russia started in Ukraine.
Koshkina has been serving Putin for what feels like forever and not just as an interpreter.

Excited to see Mistral catching up with Claude 3.7 on benchmarks, at a much lower cost and with an open weights model. This is important progress for European data & AI sovereignty. I sincerely hope Mistral will never be sold to a non-European company.

4/ The general issue here is that the Trump administration is arbitrarily walking away from a major piece of the nuclear non-proliferation architecture post 1991. Logically Poland, Germany and Ukraine should seek nuclear weapons or UK/FR extended deterrence immediately.

Trump, Vance & others either have forgotten or never knew that Zelensky signed a ceasefire agreement with Putin in 2019. Three years later, Putin launched his full-scale invasion. So, signing another ceasefire with no security guarantees feels like suicide for Ukrainians.

Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine.

Wow!! This whole speech is INCREDIBLE:
Richard Gere, "We have a bully and a thug who is President of the United States…
But it's not just in the US, it's everywhere"
"Authoritarianism takes us all over"
"We have to be vigilant. We have to be alert. We have to be energetic. We have to be brave. We have to be courageous"
"And everyone who is watching this.. We have to be willing to stand up, tell the truth, be honest"
"There's a place in all of our lives for basic kindness, for basic love, and understanding"
DAMN RIGHT.

As most of you probably know, my work primarily focuses on social media and disinformation - especially the Russian kind - while bashing Elon is just a side hustle.
Here's one of my talks from De Balie, Amsterdam, from last year on the topic.

Wow! Australia has introduced a new bill that caps the total amount billionaires like Elon Musk can spend on political parties to just $20,000.
This legislation will completely ban billionaires from"buying" elections in the country.
We need that here.

This could dramatically reshape the future of web tracking and could have dire consequences on user privacy and your ability to stay safe online.

This isn't just an Austrian problem though. Our figures show an EU-wide problem with DPA inactivity.
