First midterm done, I feel really good about half of it and okay about the other half

NEW: Pope Leo XIV declared on Tuesday that “there is no such thing as a holy war,” in a video message to religious leaders gathered in Assisi a week before the American midterm elections. The pope has clashed with the White House over the Iran war, which JD Vance and Speaker Mike Johnson have tried to defend with Catholic just war doctrine. On Palm Sunday, Leo said God “does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them.” thelettersfromleo.com/p/ther…

It seems like Kanata South has one of the most progressive councillors now, no?

Just found out about strippergate... funniest scandal of all time

If a serious progressive comes up next time, Ottawa could genuinely flip. I'm thinking Laine Johnson might be the best option
I don't like Sutcliffe but whatever. The candidates against him didn't run serious campaigns.

THANK GOD. THANK GOD. WE ARE SAVED. FUCKING FINALLY. WE HAVE AN ACTUAL COUNCILLOR AGAIN.
BREAKING: Erin Coffin elected councillor in Kanata South. Coffin defeats four-term councillor Allan Hubley. ctvnews.ca/ottawa/article/po…

I'm pretty sure that leaves Kanata with a Councillor tilted towards the progressive side of council, even if only by a little bit. She CANNOT be worse than Hubley though so I am very happy

Chow winning by a larger (than last time) but somewhat disappointing margin and Sutcliffe winning by a smaller (than last time) were expected, but Tedjo? I did not expect that one

So Sutcliffe is reelected. I expected that. Disappointing, Ottawa voters are cattle, but I expected it. Toronto is interesting, it actually looks good for Chow if you look at what's reported and what's yet to report (and the totals so far). But it's not good Bradford is ahead

Mississauga going to Tedjo by this margin was unexpected tbh. At least my Councillor in Ottawa is out.

I will be following the very interesting mayoral race with the former leader of the Ontario Liberal Party with great interest today. I am of course talking about the mayoral race in Vaughan

Honestly Instagram kinda sucks just as a social media app. All I see are coordinated posts from the same people posting about the same thing and it inherently makes me at least feel left out, even if I'm otherwise feeling okay. I'm also guilty of this to be fair

It is just how that platform works but I've seriously stopped scrolling it just because of how much fomo it inherently gives me idk
