Regenerative agriculture is profitable and possible📷 That’s the mission Soil Capital Agronomists have drove forward, across the Uk connecting farmers who have implemented 🌾 Regen practices, to farmers who are curious about learning more. We hosted three farm visits on ambassadors’ farms to discuss making regenerative practices pay and to explore agri-tech like autonomous cover-crop mowing. Simultaneously, we gained valuable insight into a well-rounded regenerative system, showcasing: 👉 Extensive agroforestry with a massive range of tree species. 👉Practical steps like making compost tea and using rainwater harvesting. 👉Diversified enterprises, from mob-grazing plans to free-range chickens. We also reinforced the vital role of multi-stakeholder collaboration (like the Devil and Chesel Farmer Cluster Group) in tackling challenges like water quality. The future of farming is resilient, diversified, and collaborative! #SoilCapital #RegenAg #SustainableFarming #FarmerInnovation #Collaboration

“Because of the way we manage our pastures, the water infiltrates and is retained” 🌱In this week’s episode, we meet Meghan Sapp and her husband Íñigo — she is a holistic grazing expert and co-founder of the Savory Institute’s hub in Spain. Their farm, Culy Creek Ranch, located near San Sebastián, is a model of resilience and ecological harmony. Meghan shares a fascinating perspective on applying the principles of holistic management developed by Allan Savory — but with a twist: instead of cattle, she uses horses. 🎧 By listening to the full episode, you’ll discover how holistic grazing, soil biodiversity, and smart ecosystem design have helped build a farm that sustains itself — and supports the local economy. 🐴Holistic horse management improves soil health, allowing rainwater to soak in rather than run off. Unlike conventional farms, these pastures absorb water, reducing erosion and regenerating the land. It’s not just sustainable — it’s regenerative. “Nature is not a nice-to-have, but a must-have.” On today’s Deep Seed podcast, Olivier Dauert joins us to explore why protecting #biodiversity is essential to human survival, food security, and #climateresilience. We’ll dive into the vital role biodiversity plays in #regenerative agriculture. Changing how we farm means reimagining our relationship with nature — it’s the path to a more resilient and regenerative agriculture. Key takeaways from this conversation: 🦟 Pollinators, insects, and even ‘pests’ all play key roles in maintaining balance — but they’re disappearing. In some regions, they’re being shipped in by truck because local ecosystems are so degraded. 🌱 Regenerative farms that foster biodiversity see improved water retention, fewer pests, and greater productivity. 🌍 We’ve already lost 70% of biodiversity on land, mainly due to agriculture. 1 million species are at risk of extinction in the coming decades. 🐄 Only 3% of the mammal biomass on Earth is wild — the rest is humans and our livestock. 🧫 Soil microbes and fungal networks are essential allies in building fertility and resilience. #DeepSeedPodcast #SoilCapital #AgricultureRégénérative

This past past weekend we celebrated International Women’s Rights Day ! 💜 Last year, we highlighted the role of women in agriculture. In France, women represent 1/4 of farm managers in 2020—an impressive rise from just 1/10 in 1970. This year, we turn the spotlight to the women at Soil Capital. Today, they make up 36% of the company — double what it was just two years ago. Diversity in agriculture also means creating change within the companies that shape this industry. Diversity is not just a number; it’s a strength. Today, we celebrate the women who contribute to our industry, our company, and our shared future. And we honor those who paved the way—so that today, women and men alike can lead, innovate, and build a more sustainable world together. #WomensDay #Agriculture #SoilCapital #WomenInAg
