Feel free to like any wrestler, any match or any company and enjoy it whichever way you want as long as you're enjoying it. I know it sounds obvious but at times we're scared to have negative opinions on things that are normally considered good and viceversa
A warm welcome for @SolRucaWWE at #WWEHonolulu ๐ค

Thought Iโd share my opinion on this as well, as you guys all had really insightful responses and Iโm happy everyone got a chance to share their piece! I read most of them and thought they were great.
Roman Reigns is one of my favorite wrestlers ever, which Iโm sure already turned off a lot of people from this entire tweet. I really enjoy Roman as an overall talent, while also being super critical on some of his output in recent years. Iโve actually had people tell me recently that they actually thought I hated Roman due to how much Iโve critiqued his formulaic approach to storylines recently, but thatโs the furthest thing from the truth.
I think Big Dog Roman was fucking unbelievable as an in-ring worker, and The Tribal Chief era has some of my favorite performances/segments/promos from any individual wrestler. I feel like the conversation around Roman, for me at least, is so nuanced that Iโd have to type an actual essay to properly articulate how I feel without being super misinterpreted.
Most of the gripes people have with Roman are 100% valid to me, and I probably agree with them. I was actively frustrated with how bad he phoned in that Punk WrestleMania build. But then he gave me one of my personal greatest matches of the year, so you see the juxtaposition here. Iโm not saying anything new, but when Roman puts forth clear effort in a match, to me heโs up there with some of the greatest performers in WWE.
Certain parts of Romanโs fanbase have used the word โauraโ as a deflection, but to me, the biggest benefactor of Romanโs โauraโ that actually translates to professional wrestling is how unbelievable the atmosphere is within his big time matches. I think everyone can agree that atmosphere, while not being a necessity to a great match, is a major bonus to how immersed you are within said match. Roman is in the absolute top tier in the world right now at conjuring that atmosphere.
Now you could say that itโs purely due to how badly he was forced upon the audience by the machine until it stuck, and I wonโt argue with that at all. But both things can be true in my opinion. I donโt think Roman is the GOAT or anything, and if you search his name on my page youโd probably see me frustrated with his refusal to expand his horizon more than most.
Despite those flaws, I think overall in his career, Roman is still a great professional wrestler who is extremely entertaining when he cares to be; and I do rate him pretty highly. Not โTHE HIGHESTโ due to his setbacks, but decently high on my limited palette of wrestling knowledge. I think throughout a lot of areas of his career, heโs an All-Time great wrestler. But heโs held back from being even greater for obvious reasons.
